theOtaku.com Anime Podcast IV - Ep. 23
Another good show out by Zombie Ichigo and Batou. I was quite amused, some good plugs thrown out for this and that, some giggles about the nature of cougars... I won't spoil anything else. Take a listen.
Music - World End by Flow from Code Geass: R2

Caption Battle: It's A Trap!
"It's that time again..."
"To talk about Michael Phelps some more?"
"Do carbon-date the ages of the Chinese Gymnastics Team?"
"No... it's time for this week's caption battle!"
But first, last week's winners:
In third place, having gone with the classic movie quote: cougarsama!
Ranma: "But Rhett, where will I go, what will I do?"
Akane: "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."
In second place, just hitting the mark with some delicious, delicious irony the more and more you think about it: Burning Silver!
Ranma: "Someday, I'll be a REAL boy!"
Akane: "..."
And in the coveted first place, both nailing it in one line of text as well as making Batou laugh like a total girl (irony considering the context)... Tim The Enchanter!
Oh my god, that dress never goes on sale!
Job well done. Tasty fish were had by all.
So now we come to this week. We're going with a screencap courtesy of mewmewlover55, featuring the ever-popular series Gravitation. Now that said... we all know what Gravitation is about, and we all know what the picture looks like... again, feel free to go for "the obvious joke" if you must, but it still has to be a joke. If your usage of "the obvious joke" is not an especially interesting or funny, it will lose. So we all prepped, then? Okay.
Left to right you have K, Shuichi, Suguru, and Hiroshi. Don't fail me, now:
You know the drill: type up the funniest, wittiest, most original caption you can think of for the screencap above in the comments below. Also, if any of you would like some tips on writing a great caption, you can find those here.
And like always, theOtaku is open to all submissions and suggestions for weekly feature content. You have a screencap you want used, you can PM me and we can do somethin' about it. Remember the golden rule, now: "yaoi is not inherently funny..."
E-mail Confirmation Now Required
We are now requiring a valid email for everyone who joins theOtaku.com. There are two reasons for this:
(1) We're going to be cracking down HARD on people who make fake dummy accounts. We have literally dozens of ways to discover when this happens--it's just that until now we haven't put the energy into it.
Having an email requirement makes it just a little more time-intensive and harder to register dummy accounts.
(2) We believe that the harder it is for people to register, the more invested they become in the site afterward.
Anyway, yeah, moving forward all new Otakuites will require a valid email address.
