"It's that time again..."
"To find leaked Comic-Con information about Avatar?"
"To get fed up with snakes on the Quinjet?"
"No... it's time for this week's caption battle!"
But first, last week's winners:
In third place, really making some good, solid use of expressions: SaxGirl!
...and suddenly Akira realised that she had forgotten to invite someone to her slumber party...
In second place, paying homage to what Dragonaut's good with (and not being stupid about it): Aceburner!
"My fanservice senses are tingling!"
And in the coveted first place, with what I felt was one of the only (if not the only) caption about which I didn't have to think twice for adding it to the winning selection... the real yojimbo!
Demonic eyes that constantly ogle other girls' behinds got you down? There's a Visine for that.
Great work you three; way to play above the norm this week... though I will be frank, this wasn't a hard week to judge as a vast number of this week's captions were just far below the usual weekly standards around here.
(I'm just gonna reiterate one of the guidelines I use for judging these caption battles: Profanity, perversity or bad language can often be funny. However, in accordance with site guidelines, captions using excessive amounts of these can't be considered. Use common sense here. A strong number of last week's captions were woefully uninspired and just not all that funny... I know you can do better, I've seen you do better. Whether you're here trying to win or here just for fun, try to show a little class next time, okay? The world will be a far happier place that way.)
Now that that's out of the way, let's move on to this week...
Clearin' out the old screencaps still on file, Teh Kimmeh is proud to present a shot from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Bald guy on the left is Rude; redhead on the right is Reno. Give it a go:
You know the drill: type up the funniest, wittiest, most original caption you can think of for the screencap above in the comments below. Also, if any of you would like some tips on writing a great caption (and considering how last week went, I strongly encourage everyone to now consider this), you can find those here.
And like always, theOtaku is open to all submissions and suggestions for weekly feature content. You have a screencap you want used, you can PM me and we can do somethin' about it. Don't drop the ball.
