It was 10 minutes to 7. The Shoguns and the Emperor were going to arrive soon. And Inuko knew what was in store for them. The two trios would appear, and Okuri would step forward, demanding a fight with them. Regardless of their answer, he’d kill all 3 as quick as he could. Fortunately, if she told Daichi, he and the other Samurai might be able to stop this villainous plot.
“Gah, I forgot how uncomfortable armor is!” Aya whined. Inuko ignored her, focusing on finding her older brother. Pushing other people aside, she finally saw his head sticking up from the crowd. Shoving her way past a trio of fat city merchants, she grabbed her brother roughly by the shoulder, not even waiting for Maiko and Aya to catch up.
“Daichi!” she shouted in his ear. “The Wolf Brothers….they’re still around! They’re planning to kill both Shoguns! And the Emperor!”
As Maiko and Aya caught up, Daichi sighed heavily. He had been talking to Jun, reassuring her that no matter who was killed today, they would come out on top. His sister demanded his attention, and he turned to her. “I know. I helped them in their plan.” Inuko’s eyes widened in shock. “Don’t worry. He’s not going to become Shogun.” He said, smiling as he explained his plan. “Even if Okuri succeeds in killing all 3, he will be so exhausted and injured after fighting them, that even I would be able to kill him.” Maiko and Aya burst from the crowd, shocked by his words. “And, even if Okuri is killed, his opponents will not live long. He will cause them massive amounts of blood loss that no one could survive. No matter what happens, then, I will be able to take the position of Shogun of the entire country!” He said, with a look of twisted malice on his face. “Out of all the Daimyos that follow Okuri-Osamu Kai, Ichiro Minamoto, Ryota Kobayashi and Takeshi Mori-I am considered their superior. With no Okuri around, all the Daimyos will obey me.” He laughed sinisterly. “Maybe I can become Emperor as well. With no one better to take his place, I would be the perfect replacement! I would single-handedly rule the Land of Snow…..”
Inuko turned away, running into a dark shadow of the building. Daichi rolled his eyes and chased after her. Maiko stormed off to find Ryota. Aya remained with Jun. The Okami brothers watched this, amused. It was almost like watching a soap opera. Then Kiba broke off, and Okuri assumed his position with Akamaru.
