Tales of Okuri Tale 1 of 7 Big Bad Wolf Brothers

Neji began to stand up. “So you’re….” He stumbled onto one knee, “…..you’re the bastard……the bastard who killed half the Hyuuga clan in a single night!” There was coldness in Neji’s voice that no one had heard since his defeat at the hands of Naruto.

Okuri began to chuckle. “Yes, I did wipe out half your clan in a single night. But I’m not proud of the deed.” Neji’s face turned to an expression of disgust. “I am proud……of the fact that I was able to perform said deed!” The large man laughed heartily. “Isn’t life strange like that? How much we value capability over action? If I told you about the things I can do, the ways I can kill people, you might be impressed, but if you saw me doing them, you’d be horrified.”

Neji took action as if to fight, but Kiba made a hand motion to stop him. “Don’t bother fighting him, Neji, you’re not going win.”

“Don’t fight? Never! Byakugan!” But as Neji activated his Byakugan, the eyes that allowed him to see chakra, he saw a blinding flash. Okuri’s chakra reserve was so large, it temporarily blinded Neji, the same way a normal human might be temporarily blinded if they looked directly at the sun. Neji clutched his face and started to fall.

“NEJI!” screamed Tenten, running over to catch him. The usually proud ninja had been reduced to a whimpering wuss.

The furry man began to chuckle again. “So, tell me little brother, exactly what,” he paused to pick up Masanori, “is this little old man doing here?”

Kiba turned to him. The old man made gestures suggesting not to tell, but he was not the boss. “Said he was building a castle. Biggest fortress in the Land of Snow. One that would put the ones you blew down to shame.”

Okuri looked at the old man contently. “Well, how nice of you to build me castle, free of charge! Or, maybe, you wanted to build a house I wouldn’t blow down, hm?”

The old man struggled in a vain attempt to free himself from the steel grip holding him prisoner. In frustration, he shouted “I build no castles for contemptuous fools such as you! I am Masanori Tadaka, the Chief Architect of the Glorious Shogun Isamu Honma!” At this remark, Okuri’s face twisted into a grimace and he began to growl. Taking no notice of this, the old man continued: “I have been assigned the task of building the new Shogunate! It will be a glorious undertaking, one to be remembered for many years! The Shogunate that I build will last 10 generations or perhaps even longer! And you will never blow it down!” Okuri snarled and threw him in the direction the Shinobi. Fortunately, Lee had recovered enough to catch him just before he hit a tree.
