I had such an awesome time there! I would love to go there again for more than my "day-cation".
Though the day didn't exactly start off great lol My friend, whom I set up the flight to San Fran for because it was her birthday, was told that we were supposed to fly out of Vegas at 6am. She told me she would be staying up until then and sleep on the flight there...ironically, she ended up falling asleep and didn't wake up UNTIL it was past 6! XDDD
Here I am, running around blowing up her phone when she calls me, "OMG I AM SO SORRY! >.<" So we ended up taking the next flight out.
Though we had less time to go do stuff, we tried to make the best of it. We first hit Nihon-machi aka Japan Town. I just got a rush of nostalgia of how Hawaii's shops and stuff were set-up; so small and close together.
Kinokuniya Book Store is my newest shop for EVERYTHING! Original japanese manga, TONS of artbooks, manga art supplies, and a whole other slew of other stuff I go NUTS for!!! Too bad I had such a small amount of money I could only splurge on 3 artbooks=over $150 DDD8
While in the area, we found Baby, The Stars Shine Bright. For those of you who don't know, it's a Lolita based clothing line specializing in Sweet Lolita. My friend, a Lolita cosplayer, HAD to go there. Dude, I didn't realize how expensive that stuff can get! ONE DRESS COSTED OVER $400!!! And that's just the dress, it didn't include the other stuff: Blouse, shoes, accessories etc
There was another shop called Angelic Pretty she wanted to go to but unfortunately it was too far out and it would have more expensive than Baby o____o; Thank GOD I didn't buy her any of that stuff; hell I got her plane ticket to and from San Fran lol
Our last stop was Fisherman's Wharf which was 2-3 miles from Japan Town. 2-3 miles doesn't bad to walk...if it weren't for the fact that we were in San Francisco Dx Holy crap that whole walk felt like it took forever! Especially with the contrast in weather kicking in; 60 degrees compared to the usual 80-90 degress here in Vegas.
But once we made it...I was back in nostalgia. We headed down to the beach and took in the sights. I sat on the side and took it all in while my friend wanted to go soak her feet in the water. I gotta say though, I had a moment watching her run around in the water...like an odd feeling I had seen this in a manga or anime somewhere lol And now I'M the one experiencing it xDDD
After all that, we had a little stop at the Ghiradelli Square and got a BIG sugar rush! I had this "Vanilla" shake that seemed to just drown in chocolate! Hell you could even tell that there WAS vanilla in there anyway lol
I didn't take too much pictures cuz I SUCK at photo-taking and our time constraint for the day. But now I feel like making this kind of vacation a usual thing except we go for a weekend or something rather than a day.
And so that was a little taste of our experience there in San Fran. I'll try to put up some more details about it in my Tumblr maybe.
