I walked stiffly away from Castle Oblivion. I would take Zero’s castle and then revive Martel. Then I would be done. I would fulfill what I had set out to do from day one. Then I would rebuild Cruxis and destroy the remnants of the nobodies that I had been forced to join. It would be perfect…perfect.
“Stop,” a voice young said sternly. I turned around and summoned nobodies around me to see who dared distract me. I froze. It wasn’t possible. He wasn’t here….and yet…he was…
“Lloyd,” I said darkly.
“Kratos,” Lloyd answered. “I found you. I found you. I found you Pact Maker Kratos.”
“Lloyd,” I answered.
“Yes, it’s me,” Lloyd answered. “And I know it’s you Kratos…I’ve found you at last…”
It was silent for a moment, and finally I smirked.
“So you’re alive, Lloyd,” I said. It was a blank statement, but it caused a silence from Lloyd for a moment.
“I am alive,” he finally returned. “And I have to stop you…”
“Lloyd, why do you dare intrude upon my business?” I asked forming lesser nobodies.
“Kratos,” Lloyd answered. “I know what you plan to do, and I cannot let you revive Martel this way…I have talked to Yuan…and…”
“I do not want to hear it Lloyd,” I answered. “I have chosen this way and it will be this way. “And I am no longer Kratos, Lloyd. I have abandoned that name until Martel revives it.”
“Kratos you’re going to massacre millions for one revival. I cannot let you…not only nobodies will be hurt! You realize that!”
“Playing ‘hero’ again boy?” I asked as my head cocked to one side. “I’m surprised it hasn’t gotten you killed yet.”
“Stop it Kratos!” Lloyd answered. “I don’t want to fight you…”
“Too bad for you then,” I answered forming Cypher in my hand. “If you stand in my way, I will kill you.”
“Don’t do this…” Lloyd answered.
“No more time for talk,” I answered. “If you plan to try and stop me, draw your weapons…if not, get out of the way now.”
“Kratos…” Lloyd answered. “Just come talk with Yuan…please…there’s more at stake here than you know…”
“I am perfectly aware of everything Lloyd,” I answered. “And I do not care about any of it. Now leave or die.”
Lloyd’s face reflected a pained look that I could feel more than see. Yes feel…truly feel…I glared at Lloyd and snapped cipher against the ground.
“Will you fight?” I dared.
“I…will,” Lloyd answered. “
“Good,” I answered. I opened a portal under Lloyd’s feet and he dropped into it. I opened another portal and walked into Betwix and Between. The lesser nobodies kept their distance from us as I snapped Cypher on the ground again.
“Kratos…” Lloyd tried once again.
“No time for talk,” I answered. “Take me head on. Now.”
I stepped forwards and Cypher turned into the Cat-o-Nine tails. Lloyd stepped back a bit but didn’t draw the twin swords at his sides. As I looked through the Dusks, I noticed an obscure look on Lloyd’s face.
“Is that your real weapon Kratos?” Lloyd asked. “What happened to the…”
“Do not speak its name for it no longer exists,” I answered cracking the whip on the ground.
“You really are a….nobody…” Lloyd finally answered.
“Yes,” I answered. “Now then…..”
I took a step forwards and cracked the whip once again. Lloyd backed up, but I continued relentlessly forwards. When Cypher was in range, I sent all nine heads at Lloyd at once. The stark fear on his face nearly made me laugh, but before I could see it, I heard the sound of metal against my whip.
“You have finally drawn your two blades,” I smirked. “Good good.”
“Kratos…I will take you down,” Lloyd glared.
“We’ll see,” I answered.
