Oops...Wrong World....

I had been traveling...I had no destination...I was just moving forward. I hadn't stopped once, not since I'd become this. What was I? I had no heart...memories of a life I didn't live...yet I MAY HAVE lived...What exactly was the shell of a former person? Looking up at the trees in the forest, I admired how tall and resolute they were. I was grateful for the shade they provided me with...this world was hot and I grew tired of it... Throwing my Brown overcoat over my shoulder, I prepared to leave this place. Feeling a last breath of wind brush my cheek, I ripped open yet another dark portal. How I could do this...I didn't know...it was just instinct for me...and I used it to move through several worlds. All in search of answers.

"Well now...where are we headed to this time?" I stated, just as I always had before plunging into the darkness.

I walked through the corridor towards the other rip...as it peeled open I stepped through without hesitation. Into a situation I'd never been in before. I stepped into what appeared to be an arena...though the opponents in the ring stood unmoving. I heard the sound of a tiny voice...singing in a creepy high-pitched tone. One of the participants seem rather frightened...and frankly, that singing creeped me out. The other simply stood idly...no emotions...and a hazed look in her eyes.

A strange vibe ran through my body and I turned to leave this strange place...I didn't think this was where I wanted to end up. As I was about to step through the slit however, I felt a firm grip on my shoulder. And then another presence appeared before me, almost simultaneously, and blocking my path. The hand on my shoulder annoyed me...my eye twitched slightly...it felt hostile...like this guy was picking a fight with me...

"Hey...if you wanna keep that hand...get it off my shoulder." I warned in a cool yet forceful voice.

He removed his hand, but at his own pace. Like he wanted it to be HIS idea. "Who are you? And why were you rushing off? Wasn't this place your destination?" He asked me confidently.

"I have no destination." I answered...and proceeded to leave. "Step aside."

The other man smiled. "I'm afraid I can't do that. You've interrupted a battle, the least you can do is stay awhile, and perhaps explain your actions."

I placed my hand on the hilt of my blade. My travel companion resting in the large scabbard on my back. "Look...I made a mistake coming here...now stand aside."

"Don't you know what you are?" The man behind me commented. "Maybe we're going about this the wrong way. My name is Triskix. I am the 2nd in Command of the Nobodies here. I had believed you were simply late...your destination wasn't Castle Oblivion?"

"Castle...what? Nobodies? Man, you're weird..." I commented without thinking. "As I said before...I have no destination." I looked at the man in front of me coldly...he was in my way!

He smiled. "Names Lexian...I can see now why you're confused. You don't even know that you're a Nobody...do you? If you stay...with fellow Nobodies...we can tell you about yourself. In exchange, we ask only for your loyalty."

"Information...about myself...?" This was an enticing offer. Slowly I pulled my hand from my blade. This was the biggest lead I'd ever gotten...perhaps I could learn something...but to offer my loyalty? A small price to pay perhaps? The portal slammed shut. "Very well. But should I feel so inclined...I'm out of here. Is that understood?"

Triskix smiled maliciously. I didn't know if I liked this man. "Sure. But it's not like we'll except you straight away...you must prove yourself first."

I laughed...in a near maniacal tone. "If it's a fight you want...come at me then! If you dare!"

Triskix seemed surprised by my bold response. His eyes seemed to light up...turning a...red?? Yet before he could accept my challenge...the other man...Lexian....stepped in.

"Triskix." He said forcefully. Then lowering his voice so only his partner could hear said. "Stick to the original plan. You're already drained as it is...you'd be in worse shape if not for Raxi."

Raising an eyebrow, his eyes returned to normal from whatever the man had said...he seemed to cool down. "I'm sorry. I will not be your opponent today. Come with me...we'll get this in order. Fear not...you will have an opponent." Then turning to the combatants I'd barged in on he ordered..."Continue your match."

I followed them out of the confinement...and though slightly hesitant, decided to give this a go. Looking back from where I'd just come from, I noticed lots of others, who carried the same aura as I did...all battling in separate confinements. I began to have my doubts...but in order to learn more of myself I had to take this risk.
