Proof of Existence

As I stepped from the darkness into the room before me, a deep reminiscent feeling washed over my being. Even if it was in death...the original Organization were gathered together once more. Well, all but Roxas. For only his stone glowed...with the reality that he still lived on. And even Xemnas had no clear marker...but like it or not he too was here.

The very first placard before me, the first site in the first row on the right side read..."The Graceful Assassin".

"Marluxia-sama...." I muttered kneeling down. My hand stroked and followed the curve of his scythe "Full Bloom" as I outlined its imprint. "Why have you gone where I can't follow you? Wasn't it you who called me your "shadow"? What is a shadow, if it can't follow it's master any longer?"

I pondered this a long while before standing up once more. To the right of him, Larxene...I ignored the placard beside her...a picture of a keyblade glowing brightly... To the left, Luxord. That crazy gambling man...you could never win against him...he wouldn't even cut a break for a child. I thought fondly. Then Demyx...the sound of his sitar echoed in my memories. He and Nyx would often play in unison...melodies that never left me... And then, there was Axel...I moved before his site.

"Your only loyalty...was for yourself." I stated firmly. "I really hated you, you know...you lied and tricked him...even when he put his full faith in you... My dear Marluxia... Axel, you truly were a selfish Nobody." I paused. "But I even miss you. That stupid smile...the way you made Triskix and Lexian laugh...and the way you weren't afraid. You didn't hesitate to strike out on your own. But Roxas changed you too...in the end it was all because of him that you...*sigh*...wasn't it?"

Behind lied Vexen and Laxaeus, and behind them Xigbar. I walked back to the right, passing Marluxia and heading to the second row. I saw Xaldin in the back...but those I wished to see were before me now. Zexion's placard lie in ruins.

"Zexion...what's become of your proof, the proof you existed? It lies here shattered and broken. None can even tell what's on here...except that you were the "Cloaked Schemer". What a truly sad state this is in now..." I commented kneeling down. "Do you even know how much Lexian cared about you? How empty he is without you...? All of you in this room...you really were all selfish fools." I smiled painfully. I couldn't do anything to fix it. It truly was beyond my repair. All I could do was lay down ice to fill in the space and level it out. But even my ice wouldn't last forever...it was just a temporary fix.

Rising once more, I moved to the final space. "Master Saix..." I stumbled. "I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to return to you...but I know you were with me on my travels...you've never left my thoughts...or my side. Thank you for that..." The portal to his room was still active before me. After all this time, it hadn't fallen into disrepair as all the others had. No, all that remained was the paths to Saix and Luxord's areas. I stepped through.

The familiar curved corridor stood before me now. I followed it slowly, reminiscent of my younger days...when I would sneak in and hug the walls in an effort to sneak up on Saix. As I came to the end, I saw him there...standing as he always had by that window...gazing up at Kingdom Hearts and muttering the same words...

"Why Kingdom Hearts? Where is My Heart?"

He turned around, noticing my presence and smiled gently as he faded...

"NO! Master Saix!" I exclaimed running to where he'd been. I pounded the window with my fist as I looked at what was left of the giant heart. "Why Kingdom Hearts?!!! Couldn't you have spared just one?!" I cried futilely. Slowly I slinked down...my body feeling extremely heavy. Sitting against the window I fell asleep. It had been weeks since I'd slept...I was so tired now...

I'm just...so....tired.... I muttered in my mind. As I rested there, Saix sat beside me, gently stroking my hair.
