A Brief Confrontation

Triskix froze in his tracks for a second. "Marlex...Raxi....Nyx was right..." He said out of nowhere.

A clear image of Marluxia flashed before my eyes again. "What? Why do you keep saying Marlex...I swear..." Suddenly the image changed...His facial shape was different...in his hands was a gwan dao...I rubbed my forehead and crouched over a bit. "What the..."

Triskix looked at me strange...like he knew exactly what was happening...he waited for me to cope.

I stood straight again. "I see." I clenched my fists. "A stolen memory...but now that it's returned...others have come flooding back as well Triskix..."

At this...I could tell he wasn't experiencing the same thing just yet. He looked at me like...'what other memories'....

"It'll come back soon." I answered his facial expression. "The other one is Xeros..." I never thought I'd forget that energy...for him to come here though, it's bizarre...he always preferred plants...

We continued on our way. Finally coming to the front gates of the Imperial Palace...where we met with some resistance...

"No one is to enter..." They denied us. As if they could...I mean...if we were serious here...

I suddenly felt Triskix flaring up within. I turned quickly and glared at him. He simply glared back...the guards started to get nervous.

"We..." I tried to say...Triskix cut me off.

"I am not in the mood to deal with you weaklings, and if you continue to stand in my way I will make sure that you will be treated to a living hell when the Emperor, Mulan, and Li Shang hear about it." He threatened. The two guards turned a pale white...I laughed slightly...but there was no lightening this mood...not with Tris's eyes glaring so red.

"Um..." They both said.

"Don't mind him..." I spoke calmly. "He's under a lot of stress. We have to see the Emperor, Mulan or Li Shang immediately. It's a life or death matter." It was odd that I would pick such words. After all...we couldn't die...yet...it was the only thing they would understand. I glared at the guards as they hesitated. But, reluctantly they stepped aside.

Triskix pushed forward immediately. I saw him sparking as he walked. Rushing to his side I grabbed his shoulder...forcing him to face me. "Triskix you have to cool off." I remarked harshly. "Just what has made you so agitated?"

"Marlex..." He answered glaring me straight in the eyes. "And the other nobody here in this world to mess with this worlds order. I don't have time for this."

"But...if you don't keep a cool head you're going to end up burning the city to the ground...calm down." I argued glaring back into his eyes with just as much intensity. His gaze seem to lighten...just a bit...and he took a deep breath...

"Whatever...fine..." He acquiesced. We started through the huge stone walk...on the way to the palace. This is where all the people in the Imperial City would gather. I'd seen it once before...full. Quite a sight...all those people bowing at you at once.

"Wait...what's that?" I suddenly asked...stopping in my tracks. Something getting closer...I felt a chill run up my spine. Yet...for some reason I no longer sensed Marlex or Xero's presence....Had they left this world??

Triskix turned around...he'd gotten a good distance from me and apparently hadn't heard me stop. He was looking at me questionably when everything went dark suddenly. Someone's hands over my eyes.

"...Guess who..." An eerily familiar voice echoed behind me.

I froze his hands and jumped away from him. It was....Marluxia! NO! It wasn't....it was Marlex....He always looked like Marluxia...so I was somewhat...kinder to him...

"Just as cold as ever I see...RaXi." He stated shaking his hands. "So tell me...did you miss me? Come on...don't be shy...you did, right?"

"To be honest...Marlex...I didn't even remember you clearly until this moment..." I spoke coldly. Honestly...I was beginning to remember ALOT...and I was pissed that they'd all been stolen from me...memories...MY MEMORIES!!!

"You know...that almost hurts..." He whined...but somewhat seriously. There was indeed a hurt look in his eyes...He jumped back just in time to avoid a huge firey attack. It would've probably disintegrated him. Triskix walked up.

"Marlex...long time no see." He glared. "Ready for your punishment? No one messes with my order...and lives..."

I drew my sword and appeared by another portal that formed. As the man stepped from it...my sword was already at his throat. Golden eyes looked up at me slowly...he gasped a little under his breath.

"So you were here Xeros." I stated condescendingly. "And I see you remember me as well...so tell me Marlex! Why is it that you all remember us...yet we've known NOTHING of you?!"

Marlex looked completely serious. "Triskix...RaXi...it's been so long." He laughed a bit. "We knew you'd act like this...just look at the both of you...you attack without hesitation...even without explanation at times..."

"Your point." Triskix stated flatly. "As far as I'm concerned...those willing to destroy the order I enforce are enemies. Why should I question my duty? Enemies are to be eliminated. It's pretty simple really."

What should I do? I was beginning to remember them so vividly now...was it right for me to be pointing my blade at them? It felt wrong... I lowered my sword and allowed Xeros to rush over to Marlex. Triskix glared at me.

"Marlex..." I mumbled. "Please leave. Just go...I don't want to have to kill you now."

"RaXi..." Triskix growled.

"I would have you explain everything, Marlex...but I'm afraid if you stay now...you'll be killed." I continued. "Triskix...isn't in the mood. And things aren't all as they appear. Many things have...changed..."

"Humph...you're telling me..." He snickered. "Oh, Verex has told me all about your little "adventures." I'm surprised actually...I never thought you would travel with a 'whole' RaXi...Why didn't you come to me...or one of the other apprentices? No...you just ran away...didn't you?"

Another flame shot at Marlex, but was diverted by a strong gust of wind. Triskix was furious...he formed his scythe.

"GO NOW MARLEX!" I shouted angrily. "That's your last warning...next time you die..." I glared at him now. I couldn't help but notice the sadness in his expression...such deep and intense hurt...

He turned away from us. Mumbling something to Xeros...they walked towards a portal. "RaXi, Triskix...we shall meet again. Honestly though...you don't belong on that side. Hopefully you'll realize that yourselves and take your rightful place with us..." With these mysterious words...he left.

Triskix walked up to me briskly. He raised his hand and I waited for him to slap me...my eyes closed tightly. It never came.

"RaXi..." He grumbled.

"You must've felt it...that was wrong. Something is all wrong!!!" I shouted furiously dropping my blade. "I don't like this Triskix...not one bit...how dare they....how dare they steal what belongs to me!!"

He was eerily quiet...as though deeply pondering the source. Just who had done this to us...

"I'm want to get to the bottom of all this...but now I can't help but worry about the others..." I spoke calmly now. "Those from the past...they're coming back now. So what will they do? Will they confront the others? Because Triskix...I honestly don't think many of the other members can take them on. Not those trained by the former XIII..."

Triskix sighed. "That's why they're all in groups. There's no need to worry yet. If Marlex was seriously trying to fight us...he wouldn't have taken off so quickly."

"But Xeros was there too..." I mumbled. He had been Marluxia's apprentice...yet knowing how fond of Marluxia I was...he never did anything with Marluxia...unless he was ordered to. He was also a bit afraid of me...since I'd threatened him many times as a child. >.>

"We still have something to do here RaXi." Triskix suddenly growled...snapping me back into reality. "Let's hurry so we may move on to the next world..."

"Right." I agreed and followed him forward. Next stop...the Imperial Palace.
