Before the Fights

I sat down in the gods stand... All the godesses seemed to have taken to the When in Greece dress like a greek saying, so me in my classic Arabian outfit stood out like the preverbial sore thumb. I looked around, the godesses looked nothing like masterful all powerful beings, they looked more like nymphs or wood sprits. They were all chatting and whispering to each other, some had instruments by their sides which remained untouched. They would most likely start singing a song when the fighting started or when the contestants came out, i wasn't too sure. The gods on the other hands... they just looked like surely old men.

I had never been to anything like this, but i did know some things. The tornament, when held, would invite all the gods from the different pantheons (different groups of gods) together so that they could observe the carniage that would unfold. I scanend the other stands that surrounded the arena.... i knew Ximh was here, i could feel is presence, yet i couldn't pinpoint where he was. I searched for a guy that had spikey yelow and orange hair, but there were no people with such a description in the crowd, this was getting ludacris.

Hades, ruler of the underworld came into the stands and sat in a throne that was behind me to my right, (godesses sat on the left, gods on the right) as he sat down a male of about 20 came in to the stands and greeted all the other greek gods, i was baffeld, all the eligible young gods were going to fight, but why not he.

He sat close to me and i began a conversation
"Hi, whats your name?"
"I'm Hecules, son of Zeus..."
"Then why are you not to fight?" i asked i was confused.
"A friend of mine from the past came to fight in my stead. Magni son of Thor, the Norse god. Twin brother of Modi. Speaking of which here comes Thor." he pointed as a god came in but i didn't take much noticed for i had become tranfixed in looking at his eyes. I could just see in his eyes that he talked with his heart, he truly did think of this Magni as his dearest friend. I had only ever seen someone with eyes that full of compassion once before, on wildflower. I smiled as he continued to talk about the gods and godesses.

Just as I was about to ask Hercules about how the tornament is run the godesses had began to play a song.... i remebered it as an old Agarbarian love song and began to hum to the tune.
The female closest to me turned around and looked at me
"You know this song?" The ones that had been playing stopped and looked at me.
"It's an Agrabarian love song. It's the story of a woman waiting for her husband to return from battle and her love is what protects him as he fights. No matter how sharp the blade or how hard he is struck, love is his armour. And no one can harm love." All the females looked in awe, as i told them the story.
"It's a tradition that we play this song before the fights, but FINALLY we know why. We godesses don't want to see our love ones hurt and we wish for them to return saftley to us. Please will you sing it for us."
"No i couldn't possibly, maybe next time. First i want to hear you play it then i shall write down the words so that you can learn for next time." i didn't want to sing... when i was a small girl my teacher would always say i sounded like two cats fighting...

The godesses seemed satified by my answear and began to play again with a sence of excitment about them. Hades stood up and raised his arms. A cheer ran through the crowd.
"Welcome Ladies and Germs, yada yada yada" He rolled one of his hands to indicate he desperatly wanted to skip through the formalities and get down to the fighting.
"LET THE TORNAMENT BEGIN" He yelled and a roar was heard from the crowds, i covered my sensitive ears and smiled, at least you knew they were excited.
