“Farewell Nyx...and be careful."
Were the last words I heard RaXi say before she walked away up the stairs. I wondered if she knew that those were the same words she said to me 10 years ago. Smiling back to her I watched as she disappeared. I knew she could beat anyone if she put her mind to it, but I still couldn’t help but to worry deeply for her. She was one of my Best Friends, no… she was more like an Older Sister to me, in our messed up and broken family.
The one thing, and only thing, that is useful and good about having your teacher so close to the leader was is that you learn, and learn quickly, to block things out of your mind. I made a promise to RaXi to cover her when she is gone and that is just what I was going to do, no matter what.
“Wha..” Whipping around quickly I peered into the darkness. Someone was here, I couldn’t believe that I did not feel it sooner. Calling out to my sword, my other weapon that was much more useful in close up fights, I summoned it to come… but it didn’t.
“That could only mean…” Walking closer to the dark figure in the corner, I reached out my hand to the person’s hood. There was only reason that my sword would not come out… is if it was someone that it knew.
Curiosity got the best of me, as my fingers slowly wrapped around the front of the hood. I could feel them skim across a thick mass of hair. Slowly I started to pull the hood back, when a hand shot up and captured my wrist. I let out a short gasp and jumped back, and almost succeeded at pulling my wrist out of the grip. The person turned their head and the hood slowly fell back…
“Lexian!?”
He looked at me questionably and gave me a slight nod of his head, RaXi is right and I felt it before too. Something was off about Lexian but I couldn’t figure out what, it was as if parts of his aura are a completely different person. ‘It is probably from all the stress of everything that has happened,’ I thought to myself.
“I should have known it was you! You get that from Zexion…” With that said his head turned to look down at the floor, I knew I shouldn’t have said that.
“Lex… I…” Glancing down I slowly rolled around a rock that was stuck underneath my boot, trying to figure out what to say.
“So you heard about RaXi… about her leaving?”
“Yea. I think she has the right idea.” Lexian said, raising his head back up.
“Wha! Lex what are you thinking about?”
Lexian crossed his arms and leaned against the wall, bringing his right foot up to place it on the wall, so he was only standing on one foot. The classical “Lexian’s Thinking” pose, it was hard not to laugh.
“I know that Triskix made a bargain with the tyrant, that he can use Triskix’s power. A contract goes both ways, so the question here is—.”
“What is our dictator doing for Triskix?” Sitting on top of the railing of the stairs, I listen intensively to what Lexian had to say.
“But it is already answered, it was answered before we even knew the question.”
“What? Lex how can—”
“What is Triskix most concerned about? What is his only goal?”
“The…... The revival of the Original Organization Members! But... what if it is not, Lexian? Triskix doesn’t like to give out too much information.”
“Yes, but I due believe that is what the despot is doing for him. I also think that he is hiding something from us, even from Triskix.”
“Your going to confront him, aren’t you.” I looked back down to the ground I wouldn’t let myself think of what our ‘leader’ could do to Lexian if he was mad. Lexian’s next words lifted my fear, at least for a little bit.
“No. Not yet, when Triskix heals up a bit more I will confront him about this. Until then I think there is something that I can research about in my book, Zexi—he did love to leave hints.” With that he opened up a portal and left, probably to his room.
He didn’t really want anyone to know about his little secret. Afraid that someone would want to take away his last link with his sensei, for he held onto Zexion’s book. Opening a portal myself I appeared in front of Xemmsur, hoping I didn’t startle her.
“Sorry! Uh… Xemmsur… can I ask you something?” She looked at me questionably, but nodded her head for me to continue on.
I didn’t know if it was something I could do, I mean what if this silly idea i have gets us nowhere but lost time. Time is something that I have recently found out that we are begging to run out of. Right when I was about to wave it off, RaXi came to mind and the words that she said, ‘Our rightful positions were to take over the Organization... and to keep it alive. And yet we abandoned it all for what? For some man to come in and claim ownership? NO! That legacy belongs to US! We who worked and strive and were molded for the position! We, of the 'original apprentices', were never meant to 'serve'!’ A sudden boldness came over me and I knew what we had to do. ‘RaXi is right!’ I commented in my head.
“Who do you remember anyone… I mean from the past. It seems like everyone is remembering certain things little by little. Like a big puzzle, everyone memories about certain people seem like they are never the same, if we can take those memories maybe together we can finish this puzzle. We can not let ourselves be slaves to our minds anymore. It is not Anamx’s fault, but we have to rebel against his doings.”
“We have to push ourselves to remember, like RaXi said, ‘We ARE the original Organization 13 apprentices! We have seen things that no one else has! We Had to fight everyday to survive inside Our OWN house since the leader increasingly wanted us pushed harder. But Not Anymore! That ‘leader’ is Not here, but We ARE!’ This castle IS Our Legacy Not the tyrant’s that Rules it Now!"
"We have to take this little by little, and for now we must make ourselves remember what we can and support Triskix. We all let ourselves get shot down and pieces of us did shatter when everyone disappeared. Now we have to remember what this castle was like 12 years ago, when Everyone was alive, and if you believe in it, we have to work toward that goal.”
