I waited as Nyx tried to find Raxi's energy. When she did she turned and asked if I was ready to go. I must have still had that look on my face because she went on to tell me to believe in myself and how i was mush stringer then I thought.
Her words helped me. She was always so kinds and caring for her friends. I smiled to her and she opened a portal, and then we were off to save Raxi.
I wasn't quite sure what world we were in. It was dark and cold. All the building looked run down and old. It was like one of those places that just give off bad vibes.
I followed Nyx down the street. We said nothing to each other as we continued walking. I could tell she was concentrating on Raxi, it was a special ability Saix had taught only to her and Raxi.
We continued on that way until a rather disturbing image stopped us. up ahead the road were the dead bodies of humans hanging from and old tree. I stopped dead in my tracks suddenly aware of how dangerous this could be.
"Come on Xemmsur," Nyx motioned for me to keep walking. The path curved around the tree to a cave opening. "Raxi is in the cave," she said.
Being inside the cave was a lot better than outside. It was cut off from the eerie outside, which made me feel better. But from the echo our footsteps made, it sounded like the cave extended on and on.
“Those things in the tree are not nobodies, that means that they did not have the power we do. They say that 'Once you see death, you don’t fear it.' We have indeed seen death. I don’t know about the not fearing it part, but I will not let fear rule over me.”
"Right," I nodded, trying to get my confidence up.
"They are mere villains, outcast of their worlds. All we have to do is head to the bottom floors, and get RaXi fast. Less confrontation the better, but keep in mind everyone has a weakness you just have to find it. So are you ready?”
I nodded again and we both exchanged smiles.
So Raxi is in the lower floors? Easy enough, we just do a little sneaking around, Nyx finds Raxi, and we get out of here.
We continued in the cave as quietly as we cold. I could tell we were descending from the drop of temperature. As we continued lower I could begin to feel the presents of Raxi. But it was weak and we needed to hurry.
We came to the last hall on the bottom floor. "Raxi is just around to corner," Nyx spoke. We continued to the corner when I heard voices.
"Wait," I whispered to Nyx. We crouched by the corner listening to what they were saying.
"Damn...she's losing it...heh." They laughed. "Think any of that means anything?"
"No way...she's probably trying to scare us...or she can't handle confinement. Too bad we're the poor suckers stuck guarding her. It's pathetic...I mean...when the heck are those Zero guys gonna show up?"
"Who knows. But man...I'm SO BORED."
"Yeah."
The sound of a portal opening was heard and I felt a nobodies step out. There was silence for a minute, and then he spoke.
"So I believe you have something for me?"
"That's Marlex," I whispered. "He's here for Raxi."
