The Split

"Former Apprentices like us have chosen Zero to side with. They have even openly claimed they desire to reunite us...so I really have no idea what they will do...should they encounter Nyx or myself. I will have no trouble drawing my weapon on them...but Nyx..."

"RaXi...I told you I'll be fine!" Smiling at her I tried, not only reassuring her, but myself as well. Though I knew that she could see past it, she always did. I guess we have just been friends for too long she could read me too well.

"So then RaXi...you're obviously thinking something. What plan of action shall we take?" Xakiah looking toward RaXi asked her.

RaXi didn’t answer Xakiah for awhile, and I thought that she was too deep in thought and didn’t hear her. That is until I could feel RaXi’s energy pick up. Then I knew that she was trying to ping-point where Minx and everyone else were located. Closing my eyes and letting my mind drift as well I could feel weird energies all around, they were familiar yet not. It was like a childhood memory, where you remember the main parts but so many little things were left unknown. Then near the top of the castle I could feel a strong energy pulsing, but it seems like it was constantly moving it was to hard to ping-point exactly.

"RaXi..." I spoke quietly. Something was going to happen, but I couldn’t figure out what it was. All I knew is that it felt bad and we had to move.

"We better hurry...Abyss is getting ready to shift again." Xakiah warned. "Unless you DON'T want the first move..."

"Listen carefully. I'll only say this once. We will divide now before the Citadel has the chance to do it for us. Nyx, I'm sure like me you can sense them all. Try to avoid contact if possible...head for that strong surging power near the top. That is Minx." RaXi explained to me quickly.

‘‘Them all,’ the familiar energies I felt must mean that they were…’ Swallowing I remembered the promise I made to RaXi. I promised to her that I would fight them, I had to, but it just felt so wrong. Once I made a promise I always kept it. We nobodies can not feel but when we did it went deep. Promises are one of those feelings, at least for me. I could never and will never brake one. RaXi knew that and used that to her advantage, half-laughing to myself I realized even though we have been away for so long she still remembered.

"Xakiah, I get the impression you too have unfinished business in this place. After all...there had to be SOME reason you left. I don't care for an explanation, though I doubt I would receive one." RaXi stated.

I couldn’t help but to wonder how everything worked out for Xakiah, after the mission. Making a mental note to ask her later I pushed all other things aside. I had to focus on the things ahead. I knew that it wasn’t going to be easy, but even though all these things ran threw my head I couldn’t help to worry about RaXi and Xakiah.

RaXi told me little about some guy she once knew, and that he as second in command here. I worried for her that she would have to face him. Xakiah was here before and probably had ties/connection to the people in here, what if they use though ties against her? Both of them are so strong willed but even the strongest have their weak points.

"I ask only that you both try to get to Minx...should I fail...and subdue her. As soon as the defensive shield is down...return to Oblivion at once. Understood? There will be no meeting up...just pull out."

“Don’t say that RaXi! No one will ‘fail’; we will all meet each other at Minx. Each one of us will be there no one will fail or disappear! I refuse to leave unless I know that both of you are okay and that is that!” Dropping my normal smile, I looked at both of them seriously and refused to back down. I would not leave anyone behind. I would rather be the one left then seeing anyone else captured and left behind.
