Glances

After RaXi left, Lexian, Anamx, and I were the only ones left in the room. It was quiet for a moment as I looked at Lexian and he looked back at me. Anamx, somewhat fearfully, looked at each of us.

"So," I started. "We have 'unfinished business.'"

"Yep," Lexian answered.

"H-hold on you two aren't going to...to fight are you?" Anamx asked.

We both turned and looked at him and then back again.

"You're still a failure," I started.

"You're still a traitor," Lexian answered.

It became quiet again. Anamx started shaking.

"But I guess I can forgive you for it," Lexian answered. "Well....for now...."

"For now?" I asked. "Why not just have a chopping fight like I know we both want and then be done with it."

"Heh Triskix," Lexian answered. "I think we need to grow up."

"Ya," I answered. "Maybe."

Suddenly Anamx sank to his knees.

"Sorry," he said quickly.

Suddenly a memory came rush in. I gave Lexian a look and we both watched our younger selves.

We were about seven or so, and both of us were rushing down a stair case.

"Triskix! Lexian! Get back here!" Axel's sharp voice yelled.

Axel came down the stairs followed by Zexion who seemed somewhat tired. Both Lexian and I were running away and laughing.

"They won't come to us," Zexion said. "It's pointless to keep chasing them."

"Fine," Axel answered. "They'll be starving soon anyways. Let's wait in the kitchen."

As Axel and Zexion left, Lexian and I came out from around the corner.

"Do you really think they'll be that mad?" my voice asked.

"Ya," Lexian answered. "We're going to hear and ear full when this is over...."

"But we only blew up Vexen's lab a bit this time," my voice continued. "They should be happy it's still standing. I don't know why the Superior even lets Vexen have a lab. It's not organized or ordered at all."

"You and your order," Lexian answered. "Anything out of order and ya blow it up."

"Says the one who helped me blow it up," the kid me answered.

Both Lexian and I broke into laughter.

"Glad to help ya though," Lexian smirked.

"Glad to have help," my voice answered. "Partner?"

My arm moved out and Lexian's followed. We both seized the other's forearm and broke into a child smirk.

"In crime," Lexian answered. "Well as long as it doesn't get me into too much trouble."

"Says the one who helped me blow up Vexen's lab," I answered.

We both laughed, but as the voices of Axel and Zexion approached the two of us ran for it.

The memory faded, and I opened my eyes and looked at Lexian. He was looking back at me. A smile was creping out of both of us. Lexian raised his arm up a bit, and in a split second I did the same. Just as we did as kids, we took the other's forearm in hand.

"Partner?" Lexian asked.

"In crime," I answered. "As long as you don't get me into too much trouble."

"No more kid stuff though," Lexian said calmly.

"Says the one who finds humor in messing with my order," I answered.

We both exchanged a smirk, and suddenly the thought of Anamx entered my mind. I looked around and saw the he had moved backwards and curled up near the base of a chair as if he were expecting a beating for giving us a memory.

"It's ok kid," I said.
