"It's always about following orders isn't it?" I sneered, glaring at the Leader. I didn't like the feeling I was getting...not at all.
"Does anyone else have any questions?" He asked turning away.
I closed my eyes a moment...waiting for someone to raise the objection I had...waiting for them to ask him. Yet none would, so I spoke once more. "Why is it....why do I feel there is something more to this than last time? Out with it...LEADER...what 'exactly' do you want us to GATHER."
I could feel the Elite's eyes all snap to me. So none of them had even wondered? No...they'd all just assumed this was routine...basic lesser nobodies...but that isn't what I had gathered. I felt Xraktos smirking...
Suddenly he burst into full on laughter. "RaXi...I should've KNOWN you would be the one to ask for the details. After all...it IS in your character...never wanting to bend to any rules...are you?"
"Answer the question...obviously there IS something to it!" Lexian suddenly exclaimed, rising in his seat a bit. "What do you want...why do you laugh like that, if it's just basic lesser nobodies..."
Xraktos stopped laughing instantly, he turned to us all in turn, then slowly began. "I didn't say anything false. What I need, are indeed LESSER NOBODIES. You may know them as Organization Zero. In my perspective, the LOWEST OF THE LOW....but that is what I require." He explained maliciously. "Therefore your orders, are to find and retrieve the members of Zero. They shall become the prisoners that will power my Cypher!"
It was as if the room froze for a moment. All of us sat there in silence...unsure if we had REALLY just heard the Leader order the capture and execution of our enemies...I saw the shocked expression on Rexikat's face...a day she'd dreaded had come. I myself...couldn't bring harm to Verex...and then I looked at Nyx. Her face was filled with...fear...Tanex, Marlex, Xeros...they were comrades...not batteries. Even Xemmsur realized what this implied...I knew they could never...no...not even I could do THIS...Both Nyx and Xemmsur's expressions seemed to BEG me to do something. I had to...I bolted up in my seat and glared harshly at Xraktos. I tried to keep myself composed.
"I KNEW IT!" I snarled. "You...you were not specific! This is completely different and you know it!"
He was soaking this in...he loved making me angry...I could feel it. "No RaXi, I was blunt...those who dwell in Abyss are nothing but Lesser Nobodies awaiting their inevitable extinction."
"So then...you must realize this is also more complicated than just CATCHING LESSER NOBODIES! Things are not black and white here!" I shouted...I could feel my temper rising.
"RaXi is right!" Nyx suddenly exclaimed.
"I don't like how you're saying, to power your machine." Ximh suddenly cut in. "It's like saying if the situation were reversed, that we would be used...it's not right..."
There were more various comments and a slight chaos ensued as we erupted in debate on whether this move was generally right or not. Most of us...were against using the inhabitants of Zero as generator fodder.
"ENOUGH!" Xraktos silenced us all. We all took our seats and calmed down. I thought I saw Triskix move...but I doubted he would wake up just yet. I tried to keep my composure...yet inside...I felt nothing but resistance to this plan. "You are all ELITE of Oblivion! You will follow my ORDERS!" He emphasized.
"No, we will consider your orders...and debate whether they are right or not." Lexian interjected, an oddly firm expression on his face.
I prepared to raise another matter when a sharp pain struck me. My head throbbed and I clasped it with my hand...the room faded in and out...from white to darkness...the rain and sea...and thunder and Lightning...to the worried expressions of my comrades and the Leader's gaze on me.
"...Xi?...you...alright?" I heard Nyx's voice...it kept breaking in and out.
"Its.....pr....a......memory...." Lexian chimed in.
"RAXI!!!" I heard yet another familiar voice chiming over. "Take COVER! Whaa...who are...UGH!"
"VINCENT!" I heard my own voice now...
"I REMEMBER THIS....NO....NOOO LOOK OUT!" I found myself screaming aloud.
It wouldn't stop...slowly...I saw as the wave wracked the ship...as I went to investigate Vincent's scream...as the hard knock from behind caused me to stumble forward...as I lost consciousness and turned back to see the face of my assailant.
Then I felt HIM...Xraktos was in my head...he was watching with me...reliving the ENTIRE SCENE! Gritting my teeth...I fought him off...trying with all my might to shove him out. The face of my assailant was blurred....I couldn't see him...but then...success. I had forced Xraktos out of my mind...and in that moment...the face was revealed to me. The hood of my assailant fell back, revealing an all too familiar face. White hair...white blinded eyes...that distinctive mark on the left-side of his face...oh yes...this was the face I would never forget. He who had taken Vincent from me.
Before my eyes completely went dark, I saw a gleaming masamune...blood....and then I returned to the whiteness of the room. My entire body seethed with hatred...I wanted to rip him apart...slowly...and mercilessly. All eyes were once again on me. Waiting for answers...answers I refused to give. And I would not give him the pleasure of a confrontation right now. That would stain this hall...I would NOT have that...
I rose slowly. Casting him perhaps the fiercest, most hate filled gaze I had EVER given any in my existence. I lifted my hand and pointed at our 'Leader'. "We have business to discuss later." I growled. "But for ME...this meeting is OVER." I clenched my fist...just trying to keep myself in line.
"RaXi?" I heard someone question as I made a portal and left.
I appeared in a random hall. I felt a warm sensation on my hand and found blood dripping...so tight was my grip. Letting out an angry cry I turned and smashed my fist through the stone wall. The pieces crumbled to the ground as I heaved...feelings of betrayal, rage, loss...these were all flowing through me at high-speed.
"Xraktos....I WILL have my vengeance on you...this I swear..." I muttered to myself.
