Close Call

The Leader breathed heavily and dropped RaXi to the ground. He walked to the door immediately and stormed off down the hall. He appeared to be a man on a mission.

I stepped from the rear corner of the room. Out from the darkest shadow the room possessed. I approached the broken me which sat dumbly against the wall. Xraktos had all but destroyed her. Her mind in pieces, even though she didn't have the defenses I possessed...it was still pathetic. I cast a scornful look of disgust upon her.

"Useless." I commented disdainfully. Holding out my hand I held it before my copy and slowly she turned solid white. As I clenched my hand into a fist she collapsed, into a pile of ice crystals. Glistening lightly like a fresh snow. "And yet, had I not sent in my copy...this would've erupted into a full-on battle."

I smiled slightly. My body seethed with intense hatred...an all consuming hate....and yet my mind was plotting. Plotting so that I would not be foolish with my rage. Xraktos could not sense me watching, therefore I am able to mask my energy efficiently from him. He most certainly did not doubt that that copy was me...therefore...I have succeeded. Finally...after 12 long years of training...I have mastered the copy technique. Marluxia...I thank you. And thank YOU Xraktos...I wouldn't have been able to "test it" if not for you...even though...I truly was saving it for Xerebus.

"That copy was useless in fighting him...however...she DID manage to gather the information I wanted. Xraktos admitted to his hand in Vincent's capture. I will never forgive him for his part in it." I growled lowly clenching my fists once more. I needed to control myself...if I wanted my vengeance...I would have to do this properly. Rushing in blindly wasn't something I'd ever do. But I really didn't know if I could stay here much longer...not now that I had found my answer...what would be my next move?

I returned to my room. Gathered my few things back in the bag which I'd brought with me in the first place and turned towards the door. Nyx was there, I don't know how...but she'd appeared out of nowhere.

"RaXi...what are you doing?" She asked me in a slightly worried tone.

"Stay out of this Nyx. I'm serious...you want NO part in what I am planning." I warned her trying to step to the side. She blocked my path.

"No RaXi...didn't I tell you before...you have to trust us more...you..."

"And what Nyx?! Drag you into MY REBELLION?!" I shouted losing my control. I gasped and turned away, realizing how I'd risen my voice...

"Rebellion...is that what you're doing...leaving? What happened RaXi...you HAVE to tell me..." She insisted.

"I looked straight at her. It was him Nyx...HE KILLED VINCENT!" I growled. "I cannot follow him any longer, not when every fiber of my being wants to tear him apart. If I stay...Triskix will be the one paying the price."

"What...?"

"That's right. He's threatened not MY life, but Triskix's. And I can do nothing...not until the pact is broken...which I swear I shall do. Until then, I have to leave..." I explained.

"You CAN'T...we need you RaXi...I need you!" Nyx shouted nearly in tears. She suddenly grabbed her eye. She seemed like she was in pain.

"Nyx?" I dropped my bag and grabbed the hand that had gone to her eye. "What's wrong...is it...." Before I could finish my sentence I felt another close by. Very close...and I didn't recognize the energy signature. "Who is that?" I walked to the door and opened it up. I found a man wandering the hall. He looked very confused. Yet he was a Nobody nonetheless. All I could make out was that he had black hair, and carried something wrapped protectively on his back. "You there! Halt!" I called out. He stopped and turned to face me.

Nyx had regained her composure and came up behind me. "He must be another new recruit." She whispered as we stepped out from my room and waited for his approach. "RaXi...you can't leave..."

"Later Nyx." I ordered her silence. "First, we address the issue at hand. We'll take him to Triskix."

"Uh, Is this Castle Oblivion in The World that Never Was?" He asked as he got close enough.

"It is." I answered. Taking a deep breath...I tried to cool down. I wouldn't lash my anger out on any but it's intended target. "Why do you ask?"

"Well...I got this...and...well see?" He stated handing me a paper of some sort. It looked like an invitation.

"What the...."

"It's the same paper the others had!" Nyx exclaimed. "I see now. Welcome to Oblivion, it would seem you were invited. My name is Nyx. This is RaXi. And you are?"

I gave Nyx a sideways glance for introducing me...but whatever. I waited for his response. All the while...thoughts of what I had to do next weighing upon my mind...
