"....I....have to go..." RaXi said harshly. "This...it's not a rebellion against the Organization...I have nothing but LOYALTY for the Organization. No, this is a personal battle. The opponents are myself and that man...I ask none of you to fight with me...and I WILL NOT forfeit my place amongst the Elite."
I felt a chill run though me.
"RaXi, you do realize the position you place me in?" I answered.
I was trying to fight off the initial rage that was going through me. Fire seemed to be running in my veins instead of blood. I was angry with everything all at once. Angry at RaXi for saying it. Angry at the Leader for starting this. Angry at Axel for leaving me....and angry at myself for letting it happen......In an instant the anger washed out to sea again, and I was left with a dulled feeling.
I felt completely dulled. Completely numbed. RaXi had moved close for a split second, but then she moved away and opend a portal. I stared blankly.
"This is NOT goodbye. Triskix...know this. I am not like our mentors...I will return to you...I swear it." RaXi said. I didn't move. Someone was laughing in my head.
"But know I must do this...there is no other course for me now...therefore I don't ask your forgiveness...only your understanding."
I didn't move. Axel.....had said the same thing. He had said the same thing. And it was happening again. I felt nothing at all. Nothing. Not a trace of anything except the dulled sense of nothing. The laughing in my head continued. The Leader was enjoying this.
"Are you going to just sit there all frickin day long?" Lexian asked.
I turned my head and met a fist. It came crashing into my jaw in a split second. I recoiled for a second.
"Lexian!" Xemmsur yelled.
"You are pathetic," Lexian growled. "The second in comand of Oblivion shouldn't wear such a broken-puppy face. It's stupid."
I glared at Lexian. Another roar of laughed echoed in my head.
"Well that face is better than your sad puppy face," Lexian taunted.
"Lexian....." Xemmsur continued.
"Shut up Lexian," I answered.
"So that you can go mope like a baby?" Lexian answered. "I thought you grew up. Guess you just the same old Triskix through and through. The same kid that would get upset when we flipped the mirrors around in the hallways. The same baby that....."
"Shut up Lexian!" I roared.
"The same cry baby who didn't even try to stop his master. Who didn't protect anyone," Lexian continued.
"That's enough Lexian!" Xemmsur answered. "Besides we don't have time for this! We have to find out where....."
"The same baby that let his master die. The traitor to the XIII," Lexian continued.
I didn't take it anymore. I smashed my knuckles into Lexian's jaw. The laughing stopped. I silenced it, burned it, and shoved it out of my mind. Lexian didn't flinch but just turned his head a bit.
"Better," Lexian answered.
I pulled my fist away sharply. My knuckles had orange flames coming from them.
"Don't ever talk to me like that again," I glared.
The Leader tried to push his way forwards in my mind, but I shoved it away. I was angry. And there are no spectators allowed in anger. I could feel my eyes turning red.
"Now that is the face that you should wear as the second-in-command," Lexian answered. "No. Those are they eyes of a First in command. A real Leader."
I smirked. The Leader was completely out of my head, and all I heard was the silence in the air.
Xemmsur was silent for a second but the contributed as well. "You would be a better leader than someone willing to kill people to bring back others. Triskix, I refuse to have Tanex and everyone be used in the Leader's machine, but if you order it......I would help capture Zero......."
"Triskix I would follow your orders far more than I would that dam Leader's," Lexian continued.
It was then I began to understand it. They trusted me. That was why Lexian was mad with me acting that way.....I took a breath in.
"Lexian," I started. "Then do me a favor."
"You want me to go with the girls," Lexian answered. "I was planning to go anyways."
I nodded. It was evident that Nyx was going with RaXi. I sighed.
"I...I will stay here," Xemmsur said quickly.
"Thanks" I answered. I could feel my eyes returning to their black color again. "Lexian, Hurry and catch up RaXi and Nyx."
Lexian nodded and opened a portal. Xemmsur didn't speak, and neither of us moved for a while. It was quiet. Pure silence hung in the air like dust. Dust......
