State of Anime

When looking at the Anime Central forum today, I was thinking about throwing up a cool thread on here. Instead, I think I'll throw up several. Otakuites are creating/joining some pretty interesting anime threads lately - here's a selection of just a few that caught my eye:

Why Do People Love Anime So Much?

sub or dub?

Anime Stereotypes

Fillers

Like a selection of fine Belgian chocolate, these are some of the tastier parts of Anime Central right now. Of course, there are plenty more threads to choose from on the forum's front page, so go check 'em out!

Share your World

For those interested, I've put up a small thread in The Lounge where everyone can share and discuss their favourite Worlds (whether they are your own, or just ones that you enjoy visiting!)

This is a great way to plug your World, but it's also useful since I'm sure there are plenty of fun Worlds that just don't get noticed.

The Worlds Thread

Feel free to jump in and link to any World you like - and maybe give us a bit of info about it too!

Thread of the Week

It's back, baby!

This time I wanted to feature an all-too-often overlooked thread. This one will be especially useful for manga creators here on theO.

The Artist & Writer Recruitment Thread

It's pretty self-explanatory, I guess. You can use this thread to collaborate with other manga creators across the network.

I imagine that collaborations could be difficult without this, because currently you'd have to rely on private messages and comments alone - here, you can set up your own thread to discuss and develop your manga.

Vote for a New Anime Forum

Anyone who regularly visits our Anime Central forum may know that I recently put up a thread asking for opinions on the idea of setting up new anime forums on OB.

Right now Anime Central is a bit of a catch-all, where dozens and dozens of franchises are covered.

But I have been thinking about going back to a system where we "feature" specific franchises with their own unique sub-forums. This gives fans a special place of their own to celebrate their favorite series/movie/etc...

In order to choose which forum goes first, I'm holding a vote on OB.

Vote for a New Anime Forum

All Otakuites should feel free to go over there and vote/discuss their choices. The winning franchise will be the first to receive its own dedicated OB forum.

Nifty Fifty 2008 - Nominations

If you haven't been to OB lately, you may want to check out our latest Nifty Fifty event.

This event is essentially like an annual awards thread, but with a twist: the people with the most votes don't necessarily win.

Instead, a judging committee lists fifty of the most notable members/threads/events/etc... related to OB over the last year.

All you have to do is say what you think is nifty and why. Best of all, you can submit as many entries as you like!

At the moment, the nominations thread is still shiny and new, so there's plenty of time to go there and submit your ideas.

I will make sure to continue to update this page with Nifty Fifty 08 updates as the event progresses.
