Unfortunately, this world seems to be mostly dead. I've done some long and hard thinking, and came to the conclusion that it'd be best to shut it down. I don't have the heart to delete it, so this world will remain as is, but guest posting is no longer available. If you are uncomfortable with any of your work still being up, please PM me, so that I can adjust posts. Also, if you have any questions, or would still like to share your work with someone in general, please feel free to me.

I want to thank everyone who ever participated in Otaku Poems. Whether you were a poet or a commenter, or silent audience, thank you. Otaku Poems had a good run~

The King

I treat him like he's royalty,
like he's upon a throne.
I kiss his toes,
his head and nose.
I tell him he's deserving.

I treat him like he's holy,
like an angel from above.
With a crown of gold,
wings to behold.
I tell him I'm not worthy.

I hold him high,
I bow before,
I try to fill his plate
with more.

I treat him like he's royalty,
but then he strikes
with lightning.
I love, yet he says to me,
"Stop.
I'm not a fucking king."

Hearts

Your heart is swelled
like a pink grapefruit,
full and ripe.
I want to leave a bite everlasting.

My heart is confined
like a glass of water
not yet spilled upon the world.

Our hearts are rare
like glimmering stones,
one diamond and one pearl,
yours more valued than mine.

But how silly of me
to compare hearts in such ways.
A heart is only an object,
twisting blood in the veins

like a reckless tornado
gusting frail reason away.

The Bridge-Builder by Afterglow

The Bridge-Builder
(by Afterglow)

A deep canyon is carved
between two sides of the heart
and I, the bridge-builder stand
with a rope in one hand
and wood planks in the other.
I come to connect the land.

One side of the heart
flowers with love and great joy.
The other side appears the same.
But the passage between
swarms with acid which burns
the heart in half without shame.

My tools are worn-out,
my wood is not steady,
my rope already staring to fray.
Before the bridge could even be built
between to hearts of a whole,
the connection is banished away.

But I, the bridge-builder,
am still standing strong
with my tools and other supplies.
I will keep work on this bridge
and bring a heart torn apart
back together infront of their eyes.

I will make them all see
real love in its form.
I will unite both hearts to be one.
If only we could join
my two hearts as one,
then my work on the bridge would be done.

Sweet Addiction

Your touch is comforting
Your taste is amusing
Your smell is relieving
You feed me a fantasy; I feed to you a soul
I can’t live without you, and you can’t live without me
You make everything better, but then…
Reality strikes back and takes me in
It eats at me, and I am left vulnerable,
But that moment that I smoke, taste so sweet
It fills my lungs and lifts my mind
I relax and look at everything differently
Life appears to be delicious
But then reality comes back
You leave me alone and I suffer
The suffering wont end, but neither will the high
You help me love, sing, and smile
But only for so long, my sweet, sweet addiction

Just Sparkle

Don’t be afraid; come out of the dark…
Don’t let them change you, you’re perfect

You’re strong, beautiful and brave
All you need to be is you,
Who cares what they think?
Who cares what they say?

You know that I love you,
You know that I’ll pick you up,
And you know that I’ll never disappear

All you have to do for me, is sparkle
