Waiting
So much has changed.
The trees bloom green,
Birds dart between the branches.
They weren’t here yesterday.
Today’s a new day.
Tomorrow is another (but that’s too distant to consider)
When did this happen?
Flowers blooming, insects buzzing.
They were dead before.
Like me.
Everything but me has changed.
The air is thick with life.
Its all breathing, it’s all alive.
Yet still I am cold.
Maybe they forgot.
Busied by this rebirth.
Too busy to notice this corpse.
But that’s ok.
I don’t mind, not really.
I'm fine.
I'll just...keep waiting.
