South Korea’s INSPIRE IR Celebrates Grand Opening

After the soft opening of the first stage complex on November 30, the grand opening of the Mohegan Inspire Entertainment Resort took place on March 5, realizing a total of four first stages of the integrated resort (IR) project located in South Korea.

Ambition:

Attending the opening ceremony at a resort in Yeongjong Island, west of the Korean capital, were dignitaries from the U.S. and Korea, as well as Mohegan, a gaming and entertainment brand run by the Mohegan people. Guests included nearly 500 domestic and foreign dignitaries, including James Kim, chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea, a member of the Mohegan Council, Lee Hak-jae, president and CEO of the Incheon International Airport Corporation, and Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok.

The development of IR officially began in 2016, and Inspire described it as "going to be the largest integrated entertainment resort in Northeast Asia." In addition, officials have stated their ambition to turn Yeongjong Island into a world-famous tourist destination by 2046 at the latest, meaning they want to compete with Macau or Singapore.

In this regard, the Entertainment Integration Resort consists of business facilities, multipurpose venues, restaurants, five-star hotel towers, and casinos, occupying the same space as 64 football fields. In this regard, James Gessner Jr., president of the Mohegan Tribe, said in his congratulatory speech, "This effort has been a shared journey of vision and aspiration between the Mohegan Tribe and the Republic of Korea. Mohegan's investment has already created nearly 3,000 jobs and we promise to create more as we grow." 바카라사이트 추천

Important Progress in Korea-U.S. Investment Relations:

Managed by Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment, INFISSER represents not only the first project on the Asian continent, but also the eighth facility the company has built. In addition, U.S. Ambassador to Korea Philip Goldberg noted that the resort's grand opening was "another key moment" in the partnership between Washington and Seoul.

The ambassador pointed out the importance of the investment, saying it is "another significant milestone in the U.S.-Korea investment relationship." He also stressed that the group's W2 trillion, resort finance, which is worth $1.6 billion, is one of Korea's biggest foreign direct investment efforts.

Moreover, as reported by Asia Gaming Brief, the grand opening also marked the debut of Korea's largest foreigner-only casino location.

During January, Mohegan Inspire received a license from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to manage foreigner-only casinos, the first such license given to a foreign investor since 2005. In this sense, Culture Minister Yoo In-chon praised IR as an important landmark of Korea's tourism and cultural industry, encouraging it to attract tourists and advocate for Korean culture globally.
