"Bookbinder?" The word felt strange on my tongue as I repeated after him in confusion, "I can't be a Bookbinder, they always said..." I trailed off, aware of the funny looks that Ashlyn and Kayla were giving me. "I am never wrong at what a person is, Gwendolyn Griffiths." Proffesor Merlin gave me a look that meant, Drop it Gwen. I sighed as he got up and walked over to where the three of us were clustered around the couch. "The two of you know how to control your powers, but I'm not so sure about her." I felt like I had been punched in the stomach, he was implying that I was dangerous and could actually hurt someone. Now I at least knew why Zander was looking at me with that worried look on his face. "I know how to control it!" I said in a voice full of quiet steel.
Proffesor Merlin didn't reply as he took a book from a shelf and muttered words of summoning from it, I felt my eyes burn as the book burned, silencing the nightmares in it. "So you can control it." He muttered quietly, "But I severly doubt that you'll use it wisely." I glared at him and silently made a vow to myself that I would never hurt anyone so that they couldn't say that to me ever again. Out of nowhere, Ava came into the room in a burst of flames on my shoulder and nuzzled my face, washing away the tears that had unknowingly poured out of my eyes. All of a sudden Zander was in the room too, with a big smile plastered on his face.
"All Bookbinders make a choice, and you made your choice." He walked over to me and I was shocked when y necklace floated into his hand in a pool of silvery light. It opened up its pages to reveal tiny pictures of Ava, Zander, and one at the very end of Proffesor Merlin. Proffesor Merlin walked over to me and put a protective hand on my shoulder while Kayla and Ashlyn gave me a hug as I just stood there with my mouth hanging open. You made a wonderful choice, Gwendolyn. Avan sang as she nuzzled me, I could tell that my four years at Gryphon Wings' would be eventful.
Gwendolyn completed her four years at Gryphon Wings' at the top of her class and shortly married Zander after she graduated. Surprisingly enough Zander was able to age after they were married for one year and they now have four healthy children. Kayla became a famous healer and helped many people, including Ashlyn who broke her hand trying to invent a flying car. Proffesor Merlin still teaches at Gryphon Wings' and is a kindly old man who doesn't have to insult any of his students, even Ashlyn's roudy twin boys. In short everyone lived happily ever after, as cheesy as it sounds.
