Meiko is one of the older and first created Vocaloids. Her counterpart is KAITO. She has a more deeper voice than the more high pitched, squeaky, newer Vocaloids. Her Crypton number is CRV1. Her character item is sake, or a alcoholic drink made from rice.

A derivate of MEIKO was created to represent her younger years. Meiko Sakine's voice was took from the MEIKO. She was created back when Miku Hatsune was a overly popular Vocaloid. Back then, older Vocaloids like KAITO and MEIKO were forgotten. The creater of Meiko Sakine wanted to push the software to it's limits, and bring MEIKO "into the music trend in the age of 16".
