After a while, when it seemed like I had used up all my tears, I stood up. I looked around, now where had all those other people gone? “Hello? Is anyone there?” no answer. Oh great, they all ditched me. By now the school was starting to seem really creepy, and I didn’t have Nami with me anymore.
“Mari Onee-chan!” I turned to see the little girls from earlier, running towards me, both of them looking terrified.
They ran up and clung to me. “What’s wrong? What happened?” I asked them, unsure of what I should do.
“That thing is chasing us!” one of the girls cried.
The other ones face turned white, “it ate the others.” I stared at her, what did she mean? I was about to ask her, when I heard a growling sound from around the corner. Uh oh, that didn’t sound too good.
Something seemed to be making its way around the corner, and I held my breath. It seemed to be some sort of dark matter. “Stay very still,” I whispered to the two girls, who nodded. The black thing seemed not to notice us, and I let out the breath I had been holding. Big mistake. The back thing turned towards us. “Run!” I cried out. Seemed like I was doing a lot of running today.
After a while, I was out of breath. I looked behind me, and saw that the black thing was still chasing us. I’d have to rest later. But not matter how fast we ran, it only seemed to get closer. I contemplated having the girls run through a wall, but by the look of it, that black thing would be able to follow.
The black thing was right behind us now, the little girls were screaming, but I was too terrified to even think of screaming. What does it want!? While I was focusing on it, I didn’t see where I was going, and tripped. “Keep running!” I yelled at the girls, who had stopped to help me. They looked at each other, and ran.
The black thing was right on top of me, now I was able to scream. It hissed, and went to grab me. As it touched me, it shrieked in pain. What the? What just happened?
