“Ok, first,” I turned to Matsu, “no miss. It makes me feel like I’m old.” Ok, so I’m sixteen, but people say I look nine, feeling old didn’t feel like a good thing. Matsu nodded, still smiling. “And second, who’s Nino? And who are you?” I turned to the red headed girl.
She looked up at me, “I’m Emiko.”
“Emiko,” I glanced at Aisling, “you’re friends?” At least, that’s what it looked like. Aisling nodded.
“Alright then, and Nino?” I continued. Nino? Could it have been that guy from earlier?
“Nino’s the man from earlier,” Emiko told me. I nodded, hah, I knew it!
“Alright then, I think we should go and help your friend Ryuu,” Matsu turned towards Emiko and Aisling, who both nodded. “And you?” he looked back at me.
“I’m coming,” I told him determinedly. “Let’s go!” We ran in the direction that Ryuu was in. I heard a strange noise, and looked back to see where it was coming from. There was nothing there. “Hey guys, did any of you hear that?” I asked the others. None of them seemed to hear me. “Hey,” I started again, then I saw a movement in the shadows.
No one seemed to be paying attention to me, so I walked towards it. It sounded like a baby was crying. As I got closer, I saw a faint glow. I looked down, and saw a baby boy lying there. I blinked, was it a ghost? I leant down and picked him up. No definitely not a ghost. “Hey little guy, what are you doing here all by yourself,” I cooed.
He stopped crying, and giggled. I looked around. There was no one there, who could have left him here? “What’s your name little guy?” I smiled down at the little boy. A name flashed through my head, “Kaki? ...Alright, for now, I’ll call you Kaki.”
