I was strolling down the street when I heard a shout from behind me. I turned, sweeping my long hair out my eyes.
"Yes?" I asked the guy running towards me.
"Are you Valeraine, the demon hunter?" He asked me
"Yes." I said shortly, hoping to get on with my business.
"Then I have a job offer for you."
"Oh?" I said skeptically, maybe this was going to be a little more interesting after all.
"There has been sightings of ghosts down at a school, we want you to help get rid of them"
"I don't do ghosts, only demons"
"There are demons too. But there is something you should know, there are others there too who will be helping you"
“Fine with me. Just give me directions to this school and I will go there now”
“It’s two streets down. It’s hard to miss”
“Okay, thankyou” I said, turning and starting to make my way to the school. Working with others huh? That should be interesting. Especially with my power. What if they had powers too? It could make theirs go haywire. It could increase, and reduce their powers, transfer it to someone else, or even transfer it to me. Heh, this should definitely be interesting.
I stopped just before the school doors and then walked in. The whole place stank of paranormal, I could sense it everywhere. I turned into one of the classrooms, using my instincts to guide me. A demon was in there. He turned at me and tried to blast me with some of his power. I smiled grimly at him before making him lose his power and me gain it. I used it on him instead. Using a demons power on itself I had found to be particularly effective. Most demons seemed to not be resistant to their own power once they had lost it. I turned back into the corridor. I tilted my head as I sensed another paranormal, this time it wasn’t demon though. It was human with paranormal gifts. Apparently it was one of the people I was working with. I quickly slipped silently into the room, sneaking up behind the person.
“Hi” I said, from right behind them. I laughed as they jumped. They were obviously surprised that I was there.
