~Mari~
I stared down at the little baby in my arms, “now what am I supposed to do with you?” I couldn’t stand the thought of leaving him with someone else, but being an orphan, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to take care of him. I lightly tickled him under the chin, and I loved the way he giggled. Suddenly he did something that made him seem way more intelligent than a normal baby. He grabbed my finger, and looked straight into my eyes. For some reason, I felt like he was trying to say thank you.
“He’s really cute,” I looked up to see Aisling standing next to me. “Can I hold him?”
I nodded, “sure.” I placed Kaki in her arms. For a second, he seemed fine, but then he let out a loud cry. Aisling tried rocking him in her arms, but he wouldn’t stop. She looked at me for help, and I quickly took Kaki from her. The second he was back in my arms, the crying stopped. “Well, that was, weird,” I stared at Kaki.
A few seconds later, it started to get lighter. I yawned, I’d had no sleep for two days now. No school for me today. “Well, I guess I better get going,” I told Aisling.
She looked at the rising sun, “I guess.” She seemed to mull something over for a second. “Here,” she handed me a piece of paper, “it’s my phone number, call me if you need anything.”
I wasn’t sure what to do, I’d never had a living friend before. Wait, friend? Did I consider Aisling a friend? I thought about this for a second, yes I definitely considered Aisling a friend. I smiled, “thank you Aisling.”
She flushed slightly, “you’re welcome.” I blinked at her, she was really cute. She couldn’t have been more than thirteen, but she was slightly taller than me. I felt a little irked by this, why couldn’t I grow at least a few more inches?
“Well, I’ll see you around!” I waved at Aisling as I started to walk away. She smiled and waved back. When the school was out of my sight, I groaned. Yeesh, walking was such a pain, especially with Kaki. He giggled, and I smiled down at him, “we’re almost home.”
I walked up the steps to my apartment, but as I reached the door, I collapsed to the ground, “oh no! No, no, no!” Taped the door, was a piece of paper, reading ‘Notice of Eviction.’ What was I going to do now? I heard footsteps behind me, and turned to see the apartment manager standing there. “Miss! Please, I promise I’ll pay you soon. So please don’t kick me out!” I cried.
She looked so sorry for me, and then noticed Kaki, which only made her look all the sorrier. “I’m sorry Mari. But I’ve just sold the building, the new owner is the one who evicted you.” She gave me one last apologetic glance, before walking down the stairs, and leaving the building.
I hugged Kaki tight, and kissed his forehead. “Don’t worry sweetie, everything’s going to be alright, “I cooed as I stroked his hair. Great, so where was I supposed to go now? I opened the door to my ‘old’ apartment, and walked in. I sighed as I wrapped Kaki up in a blanket, and placed him on the bed. I grabbed a suitcase, and started packing my clothes, photos, and what other few possessions I owned. I opened the cupboards, and packed some food in a bag. Thought for a second, and then pulled out a bottle of water and emptied it into the sink. I grabbed the milk from the fridge, and put some into the bottle. Wait, was it alright to give a baby cold milk? It would have to do for now.
I walked back to the bedroom where I had left Kaki, and dropped the bottle when I realised that he was no longer o the bed. Instead, there was a guy who looked about sixteen years old. He had light blonde hair that fell over his left eye, and blue eyes. But the thing that stood out the most, was that he was naked. All he had to cover him was the small blanket I had wrapped Kaki in. Oh no! Please don’t tell me this was one of those perverts you hear about on the news!

I looked around the small room, this is where Mari lived? It wasn’t very pretty, it was rundown and old. I looked up as I heard a clanging noise. Mari was standing in the door, the clanging noise had been made by a bottle that had been dropped on the floor. I smiled at Mari, but she seemed to be scared for some reason. “How did you get in here?” she growled. I didn’t like that tone of voice. And what did she mean? She had brought me in.
“M-Mari,” I said, testing out my new voice.
She looked at me confused for a second, and then her eyes widened in shock. “Kaki?” she asked cautiously. I smiled up at her. She took a step forward, “but you were... how did... What’s going on?” With every word she took another step forward, until she was standing in front of me.
I reached forward, grabbed her arm and pulled her onto my lap. I hugged her tight, “Mari!”

So... This boy was Kaki? There was no way! Kaki was a baby a minute ago! I took a few cautious steps forward, “but you were... how did... What’s going on?”
Before I could say anything else, he grabbed my arm and pulled me onto his lap, “Mari!” He hugged me tightly, and I almost found it hard to breath. Then he did something that surprised me, well, everything at the moment was surprising. He leant forward, kissed my forehead and stroked my hair like I had done to him earlier. “Thank you Mari!” he cooed.
I flushed, ok this was getting really weird. I went to sit up, and I realised something I had forgotten, he was still naked. I practically flew to the other side of the room. “Ok, first things first. We have got to get you some clothes!” I slammed my closet open. I remembered that I had some of my dad’s old clothes that I had kept after my parents had put me up for adoption. “Bingo!” I smiled as I pulled out and old t-shit and a pair of faded jeans, also folded inside the jeans, I sighed with relief, was a pair of boxers. “Put these on,” I threw them at Kaki.
He stared at the clothes for a second. Oh no, please don’t tell me he doesn’t know how to get dressed! I walked over and picked p the pants. “These go on like this,” I explained, making miming movements of putting on the jeans. “But make sure to put the boxers on first.” He nodded, and grabbed them from me. I turned around as he stood up. “Are you ok?” I asked him a few seconds later.
“Uh huh,” I turned around to see that he successfully managed to put the jeans on. I looked up at him, and realised how much taller than me he was. He picked up the t-shirt, and managed to get it on after a couple of tries.
“Good boy!” I praised him, and he smiled widely and hugged me again. I grabbed his hand, and pulled him with me, “alright! It’s time to go!” I grabbed the suitcase, and we walked out the door. I sighed as the door shut behind us, “where are we supposed to go now?” I looked up at Kaki, he needed a place to sleep today.
I was so tired, and I dragged my feet as I walked. Kaki noticed this. “Mari, here,” he picked me up bridal style, like Brent had last night.
I struggled in his arms, “put me down! Put me down!” He looked upset, but he did as he was told. I noticed a few people staring at us, and I grabbed his hand again, and started walking.

Zomigod! What happened to Kaki? If anyone wants to, you know, find them walking on the street or something go ahead! ^^
Yup, so I stole KC’s idea. So from now on, whenever you see this ~*~ It means I’m switching between Mari and Kaki’s point of view.
