“When is everyone going to get here? “ Em sighed looking at me upside down from my bed.
I kept spinning in the wheelie chair. “Oh I know what we can do.” It was like a spur of the moment thing. I got up and ran into my dresser.
“What are you doing?” She asked pretty much flipping off the bed.
“I’m looking for a small sheet of paper. It’s about 2 inches long and an inch big.” I told her unfolding sheets of paper and tossing them aside.
“Here, is this it?” I looked over to what she had in her hand.
“That’s it.” I went to grab it and she pulled it away.
“Haha very funny.” I moved for it again and she kept pulling it away. “stop that.” I placed a hand on her shoulder and snatched the piece of paper out of her hand.
“What’s on the piece of paper anyways?” She asked as I looked at the paper.
“It’s Matsu’s and Nino’s apartment number.” I answered looking it over and memorizing the numbers and street.
“No…your not going to…” She started.
“Hey they deserve to have a little fun while they’re here.” I smiled at her and put the piece of paper in my pocket. “You want to come with?” I asked heading towards the door.
“What if they say no?” Em asked catching up with me as I went down the stairs.
“It’s simple; we leave.” I said putting on my shoes. “Kara I’m going out for a bit.” I shouted.
“Alright be back by 5.” Kara answered back.
“So are you coming?” I looked at Emiko and opened the door.
I knew she would follow me.
“I’m not letting you go over there on your own. With your luck you and Nino will get in a fight.” She smirked.
“I’m glad you trust me.” I muttered low enough so she wouldn’t hear.
We were both surprised by how close the apartment building was. It was only 15 minutes away from my house. The lobby was small and the stairs were over to the left of the desk. No one was at the desk. So I figured that we could just go up. I went up the stairs two at a time and Em was right behind me. We stopped in front of their door and took a deep breath.
“It’s now or never.” I muttered and knocked on the door.
Matsu was the one that opened the door. “Oh why hello.” He smiled.
“Can we come in?” I asked.
“Yes; of course.” He stepped aside and we walked in.
“This is a nice place.” Emiko stated looking around.
“It’s not much but its home for now.” Matsu replied.
Nino came walking into the hall and as usual had his normal scowl on his face.
“You’re up.” Matsu smiled at him.
“What are they doing here?” He asked.
I stepped next to Matsu. “I want you guys to come to my birthday party.”
“And why’s that?” Nino questioned.
“Come on both of you two are stressed, even Matsu can’t hide it. Just come and relax for once. We have a whole bunch of different games and stuff; it’ll be a lot of fun.” I stepped aside from Matsu and bowed to both of them. “I promise that I’ll listen to whatever you have to say. I’ll try to understand, I won’t talk back.” I looked up at them.
“I would like a break what about you Nino?” Matsu answered with a smile.
“Tomorrow morning.” Nino said.
My face lit up “Really?!”
“I guess so.” Matsu smiled.
I looked at Emiko and she smiled. “The party starts at 5.” Emiko told them.
I wrote down my address on a piece of paper that Matsu gave me and then we left.
“I didn’t think you could do it Ryuu.” Emiko laughed punching me in the shoulder.
“Really and why’s that?”
“Well no offence but sometimes you seem to be a bit shy.” She smirked.
I elbowed her in the arm “Thanks for the boat load of confidence.” We walked back to my house.
