“Sold out?!”
Aisling covered her mouth after her momentary out burst. The people who were also shopping in the same store as her gave her strange looks. She gave an apologetic smile and looked back at the rack of CD’s on sale. The one that was planning to buy for Ryuu’s birthday present was sold out. Aisling sighed and wonder around the store.
Why had she waited until last minute? Well she wasn’t used to buying people presents if they weren’t family. Aisling looked at her wrist watch. It was almost time for the party. She couldn’t find anything that she thought Ryuu would like so she left the store and went to another.
When she was out in the streets she felt a sudden chill and looked around. She had the ‘I’m being watched’ feeling. She scanned her eyes around for anything suspicious. She saw people walking their dogs and doing shopping but nothing looked out of the ordinary. She shook her head and went down several blocks.
She walked into a novelty shop. There were a lot of random and interesting items being sold. She walked over to the counter and looked at the merchandises they had on display. There was a man in a plain black suit standing behind the counter. He looked like an employee. Aisling was about to ask him a question but another man much younger than the first came in and walked right through him. The words died in her throat and she was taken aback that she didn’t know he was a ghost in the first place.
“Can I help you?” The young man asked her politely.
“Uh no well not yet, I’m just looking around.” Aisling said.
“Okay then. If you need help I’ll be other here,” He said and walked over to the other side of the store to dust some of the merchandises.
Aisling looked through the glass case that was used as the cashier counter and it displayed jewelry and other items that some were a little out of her price range. While she looked at them she could feel the ghost was watching her and it was starting to creep her out. ‘Why is he staring at me? Is it because I can see him?’ Aisling glanced up and saw ghost was standing under a picture of himself in his younger days. In loving Memory of Kevin Doyle shop owner and mystic man. ‘That sort of explains the reason why he is haunting here.’
The ghost looked at her and then moved forward. He pointed at one of the items in the glass case. It was a lapis lazuli gem that was the sized of a thump nail. It was the best looking lapis lazuli Aisling had ever seen. A beautiful deep blue with streaks of gold attached to a gold chain. She looked at the price, it wasn’t that expensive. She could afforded it. Aisling wondered it Ryuu liked jewelry? ‘Well if he doesn’t he could use it as a key chain.’ She thought.
She bought it and left the store. Outside she almost bumped into the ghost. “Uh hi…” Aisling said to the ghost and looked around to make sure no was watching her.
“Here,” The ghost handed a closed fist in a gesture to offer her something. Aisling held out her hand and small clear crystal quartz fell onto her palm. She raised her eyebrows at it. “On the house,” he said and disappeared.
“…thank you I guess.” Aisling said out loud. She looked at the crystal in her hand, shrugged and put it in her pocket.
Then she walked home. She didn’t notice she was being followed.
High above in the sky, just high enough that people would mistake her as an average sized bird was Morrigan.
“I’ll get her for sure this time,” cackled the crow. She swooped down in an attempt to attack the unsuspecting girl. But before she was even able to make a killing blow she whammed into an invisible barrier. The crow screeched in surprise startling the red head girl. When Aisling looked up the crow was gone.
“That was weird…” Aisling said to herself.
Morrigan had taken shelter in a near by tree. “Damn it,” she hissed to herself. “Where did that barrier came from? It’s not one of her card spirits doing.”
“Hello pretty bird,” said a sarcastic voice.
“Seth?” Morrigan looked around and saw the Ryoen’s servant Seth.
“What are you doing?” said the demon woman. “You weren’t order to go after her.”
Morrigan said nothing.
“Tsk tsk, what a bad servant you are.”
“Shut up!”
Seth laughed and disappeared.
Morrigan glared and saw that she lost sight of her pray. “Next time then,” She growled and flew away.
It was ten past five when Aisling arrived at the party. When she knocked on the door she was greeted by Ryuu. “Hi Aisling.” Ryuu said inviting her inside. “Glad you could make it.”
“I wouldn’t miss it,” Aisling smiled shyly and handed the small neatly wrapped box. “Happy Birthday.”
“Thanks,” Ryuu took the box. “You made it just in time. Nino and Matsu are here as well.”
Aisling looked over at a table where appetizers and cans of soda were laid out. Matsu was having friendly small talk with Emiko. Nino was leaning against the wall drinking soda. “Wow,” Aisling said. “I really didn’t expect to see them here.”
“Yeah I invited them. I thought they could use a break.” Ryuu said smiling. “We’re going to play twister in a few minutes. Takara and Taiki are setting it up in the living room.” Ryuu walked away to put his present in the small pile of presents on a table. Aisling walked over to Emiko and the two men to say hi.
“Hello Miss Aisling,” Matsu said smiling lightly. “How are you today?”
“Hi Matsu I’m fine thanks,” Aisling said.
“Where are Mari and Kaki?” Emiko asked Aisling.
“Mari said she wasn’t sure she was invited, and that she had something to do and Kaki went with her.”
“Okay we’re reading to play twister,” Nyoko said.
Aisling saw Nino make a face and he looked like he wanted to somewhere else than here. Aisling hid a smile and joined the others.

Outside at the hospital a tall man with blonde hair entered the hospital. He didn’t walk to the front desk but went straight to the elevator and entered the fourth floor. He passed the desk at the main lobby on the fourth floor.
“Excuse me sir can I help you?” A nurse said to the man. The man turned around and smiled serenely at the woman who flushed and began to stuttered.
“No thank you my dear. Have a nice day.” He said pleasantly. The woman nodded and went back to work with a happy and peaceful smile on her face.
The man turned away and walked into Teresa Wong’s room. He stood beside the bed and smiled gently at the comatose woman. He raised a hand over the woman’s face and said in a quiet voice. “Rise Áine,” a white gentle light glowed around his hand and the form of Áine rose from the dark haired woman’s form. Áine stretched her arms and landed gracefully on her feet. She looked surprised at the blond haired man. “Michael?”
“Áine you know you are not allowed to possess humans.”
The red head woman looked down. “I am sorry,” she said solemnly. “I meant to shadowed my granddaughter Aisling but someone I ended in this woman’s body.”
“I understand,” The man named Michael said calmly. “Much of Aisling’s spiritual traces surround Miss Teresa’s body because she has tried to bring her out of her coma.”
“I see,” Áine sighed, “She has a lot to learn.”
“One of the reasons why you were sent here, to prepare the young ghost seers of what they will have to face in the near future.”
Áine nodded. She and Michael left the hospital.
“You will go to the house of your family and wait for your granddaughter.” Michael told Áine.
“What will you do Michael?”
“I want to pay someone a visit,” Michael smiled mysterious. “I believe the person will become a great aspect in this battle.”
Michael disappeared and Áine walked to the Alvey Estate.
