Broken

I glanced at the green dot, fully intending to win this game. No way was I going to lose to Nino. I noticed the two of us were reaching for the same dot, but I reached farther. just as our hands met, a sharp image of a brown haired girl shot through my mind. The brown haired girl was standing there, her back turned to me. She was really sketchy, like I could barely see her.

She turned, "Hello... Nin-kun...." I was taken aback. She knew Nino? How?

I recoiled away from Nino when I realized it was because we had touched, but what did that mean? Turning my attention back to Nino, he was in a hand stand. I frowned; what was going on? He seemed to come out of it and moved into a standing position.

"Nino?" Matsu asked towards his friend "You went white as a sheet just now.. and what was with the hand stand thing?" He was trying to rub the incident off, but I knew better. It was unlike anything I had ever experienced before.

"Em? You ok?" Ryuu asked, concerned. I nodded my head, but only to silence him, not to actually answer him.

A heard a noise, like a voice, but I could barely pick it out. you.......ok What did that mean? I couldn't hear the whole phrase and was only getting bits and pieces as whatever it was repeated itself several times. I frowned as I concentrated on the 'voice' but concentrating didn't help.

I was vaguely aware of Ryuu opening the gift Nino and Matsu had given him. I frowned with uneasiness washing over me. Something was right. Something about ME wasn't right. Something was out in the streets prowling around when they shouldn't be. They were after me, whomever it was. I was a sitting duck sitting here... wait, I had an advantage with all of these people here. Whatever it was wouldn't attack me or anything here... would they?

The 'voice' was talking again, but this time I couldn't pick out any words. I just knew it was talking at me. I shook my heads, wondering where the 'voice' was coming from, but I knew it was in my head, therefore, I didn't want to ask the others if they were hearing it. I didn't want them to be concerned and get worried about me.

I went into the kitchen to get something to drink, getting away from the others for a moment. I looked out the window, down the street, but there was no one there. Why was I feeling so paranoid? I took a deep breath as I grabbed a glass and turned on the tap. Filling the glass with cool water, I kept my eyes peeled for anything suspicious.

I needed to talk to Nino. That's what I needed to do. He had to give me some answers as I had been 'normal' before he touched me. He couldn't be too far ahead of me yet. Scribbling a note for Ryuu to find, I ran out the back door. I ran as fast as I could down the street and found him several blocks ahead, walking briskly, head down.

"Nino!" I yelled, twice to get him to hear me.

He stopped and turned when he heard me, waiting for me to catch up. IT was clear he didn't want to be there, talking to me, but he knew if he didn't I would follow him back to his apartment and pester him there.

Trying to catch my breath, I said, "I want some answers. Honest answers. What happened back there? What did you do to me?"

Continue?
How was that?
