Nino shook his head sharply as he seized the light post behind him. He didn't more or breathed, and yet his eyes remained sharply fixed on Emiko who appeared to still be clinging to her head slightly.
"What is happening to me?" Emiko all but begged the question, and yet the answer that was beginning to appear in the dark haired man's thoughts was not one he was willing to accept. He shook his head sharply.
"Nino? I know that the girl is important to you. But, I'm beginning to wonder if the two of us aren't connected in a way. I know it's probably not something you want to hear, because I know you don't like me very much. But, there is something about her that is linked to what is happening to me. Please tell me what is going on." Emiko said after a moment.
Nino froze and made no motion to speak. Emiko had thought of it too, and with the alacrity at which she had come to the conclusion only seemed to spur the thought that was moving in his head more.
"You're going to drive yourself crazy if you don't hurry up and accept it...." Nino's eyes widened as he felt the familiar presence of the spirit that had nearly engulfed him before with hate towards Noiren. The spirit that had been placed in him as a Vessel forever tied to make sure he completed his job. The dark haired man shook his head once more.
"I can't go back to the others until I know what is wrong with me. What if I put them in harms way? I would never be able to live myself. I know this is hard for you, but you have to give me something to work with. Please." Emiko's voice was begging now, and it only served to unnerve the dark haired man even more.
"She even recognizes it... just speak it...." the ghost all but sighed to the dark haired man, and yet Nino made no motion to speak. He wouldn't be the one to open this pandora box. If she would just leave it alone.... Nino's thoughts echoed in his own mind and vibrated through his system. Just take that step back....
"She won't.... she's like the rest of you," the ghost almost snickered now. "We both know what is happening... accept it."
"I won't bring another one into this mess...." Nino's thoughts were sharp. However, suddenly the sound of clapping hit the dark haired man's ears, and Nino turned around sharply to find the familiar face of Sho Sakurai standing in the almost moonlight.
"So this was the distracted format that was spreading so quickly," Sho commented more to himself than to anyone else.
Nino's dark eyes widened, and he backed up sharply away from the brown haired man before him. However, Sho made no motion to come any closer. His visage was of a calm demeanor as he looked from Nino to Emiko.
"The night that I come into town to find you and Matsu, and I find a power surge that throws nearly every spiritual form in a football field's radius off balance..." Sho said as his eye rested on the somewhat perturbed face of Nino.
"Go away, Sho," Nino said sharply, and yet his voice was poisoned with lack of strength.
"I heard that Aiba was in town as well," Sho continued on, and after another moment his eye rested on Emiko who was reflecting a wary look back. "So you're the source of that explosive amount of spiritual pressure." The brown haired man's two different colored eyes stared at Emiko. "This will be reported later," he commented aloud.
"No!" Nino growled sharply causing both Sho Sakurai and Emiko to give him a sideways glace. "Just go away Sho.... take Aiba and leave this town...."
"Why so defensive?" Sho answered back as if unfazed by this sudden show of retraction. Once more, Sho Sakurai's eyes moved and he was now staring Emiko in the face. "Do you wish to know what is happening to you?" he asked allowing one emerald eye to rest on Emiko's face.
"Shut up, Sho!" Nino growled.
"Nino," Sho said in a way that caused the said dark haired man to force himself forwards and all but challenge the tall football player form of Sho. "You have no right to impede information from the Council, and you are already all but on probation for running of without regulations. I suggest you close your childish lips before you end up being locked up."
Nino's eyes widened for a moment but then narrowed again. The dark haired man said nothing but turned his head and refused to stare into the situation. Sho turned his head back to Emiko and stared quietly for a moment. "Do you wish to know what is happening to you?" he asked Emiko calmly.
