I ran down the streets of Japan. I heard the crack of an unnatural fire behind me. A laugh came from behind me.
"Run girl! Run all you want! But you can't outrun fire!" Why was this guy always after me?! What did these Demon Lords want?!
"What do you want with me?!" I called back.
"Simple, girl! I know of your power. It is a gift that cannot be taken back! And I want it for myself!" He called. I felt the gem in my forehead press cooly into my skin. Suddenly, there was fire in front of me, to the sides, and behind me. I was engulfed in a circle of fire.
"No where to run now, eh?" I turned to face the enemy. He had firey red, spikey hair. His wings were flames themselves, and I couldn't make out his clothes with the shadows cast by all the fire. "I will gain you as my own servant. I will make you and your gods bow down to me!"
I smirked. "Not gonna happen, bub!" I said. My jewel glowed, and so did the symbol of the grape vine.
"I call on Dionysus! God of wine! Protect me in my peril!" I spread my hands outwards, and faced my palms toward the fires. Vine started to erupt from my hands, dousing the flames. When they were all put out, I sprayed the Demon Lord. He coughed and sputtered, cursing me, then flew away on some (somewhat wet looking, if that's possible) wings. "Thank you Dionysus. You're dismissed." I felt the gods presences leave with the smell of fresh squeezed grapes and the tastes of wine in my mouth.
When he was gone, I nearly fell over. My legs were sore from running, and calling Dionysus didn't help how tired it was. On top of that, I hadn't slept since 3 days ago. So I panted on my hands and knees. There was no way I could pass out here! I was in the middle of a street, in some neighborhood. So I got up and moved onto the side walk. Basically dragging myself, I carried on as far as I could, my vision started to dim, until I could barely see in front of me.
I fell over on my hands and knees. My legs couldn't hold me up anymore. Want... sleep...
"Hey, are you okay?" said a voice. I couldn't even concentrate enough to tell if it was male or female. I looked up and smiled brightly, eyes closed.
"Yeah! Just... tired..." I barely finished the word before passing out.
