~Mari~
I opened my eyes, and when I looked around, I was slightly confused. I sat up and stretched, then I remembered we’d come back to Aisling’s house. I looked to my left, where Kaki had been sleeping the night before. Panicking, I realised he wasn’t there. “Kaki?” I called out, jumping up.
“Yes?” I looked towards the chair that was in the corner of the room. Kaki was sitting there, drinking a glass of milk. “Something wrong?” he tilted his head to the side.
I shook my head, “No nothing’s wrong.” I noticed the book in his lap, “Can you read?”
“No. I like the pictures,” he told me.
“Ah, so you’re finally awake?” I turned at the sound of the voice. I looked the woman over, she seemed familiar. “I’m Aine, Aisling’s grandmother,” she smiled.
I clapped my hands together, “That’s right!” Now I remembered, we’d seen her after we’d come back to Aisling’s house, she’s the one that sent us to bed.
“Grandma!” Kaki called out, running to Aine’s side. I stood there dumbstruck, Kaki normally only came to me.
Aine, still smiling, patted his head, “Were you a good boy while Mari was sleeping?”
“Uh huh,” he nodded and moved back to my side.
Aine’s face became serious, “There is something I must talk to you two about.”
