Accessing Dreams

~Ryuu~

“Where am I?” I questioned as everything slowly came into focus.

“You’re in the hospital.” A nurse told me coming into the room.

I got into a sitting position on my bed and the nurse set down the tray of water on the night stand at the end of my bed.

“You should lay back down with the cuts that you came in with you shouldn’t even be up.” She said.

I looked at my arms and they were bandaged the center knuckles on my fingers up to my shoulders. I got hurt training much worse than I thought.

“I’m fine.” I answered pushing off the blankets.

“No lay back down.” She ordered.

“I promise I’m fine I want to get out of bed.” I wined swinging my legs over the edge of the bed and noticing that my legs were bandaged as well.

“Get back in bed and lay down.”

We stopped bickering when I heard the door open and Nino walked into the room. We stared at each other for about a minute and then some words came out of his mouth that I thought I would never hear from him.

“Thank you…for bringing back Matsu…” He said bowing “Thank you…for not letting him…die.”

I said nothing but stared at him. Then I looked at the nurse.

She sighed and grabbed the glass of water off the tray and a pill. “Take this and I’ll let you walk around.”

I took the pill and then handed her the glass of water back. She grabbed the tray and headed towards the door. “If he starts getting dizzy make him sit down.” She told Nino before leaving.

“How is Matsu doing?” I asked looking back at Nino.

He said nothing and looked away. I sighed and hopped off the bed.

“I want to see him.” I said walking up to Nino.

Nino didn’t want o move.

“Come on you’re the only one that knows where his room is and I don’t feel like getting yelled at by the nurses.” I laughed trying to lighten the mood but failed.

I looked at Nino and it seemed like by how badly injured Matsu was it was almost like he was blaming himself.

“It’s not your fault; no one knew that this was going to happen…”I told him grabbing his shirt and dragging him out of the room. “You’re acting like a child; this isn’t like you at all.” I said stopping and turning around to look at him “What ever happened in the past between you two to make you act like this now is stupid. The past is the past so build a bridge and get over it. By the Matsu follows you around he obviously forgave you for what ever happened and I’m sure he will again.” I looked at the wall across from us “In fact Matsu seems to be his happiest when he’s around you don’t you ever notice?” I laughed lightly and started walking again. I went to the nurses’ station to ask where Matsu’s room was.

By the time I got there Nino was already standing in a corner of the room watching Matsu. I walked up to the bed side and looked down at his bandaged face. I looked up at Nino and it almost looked like he was in a daze. I placed a hand on Matsu shoulder.

“He’s tense…he must be having a nightmare.” I stated as I kept looking down. “The mind is a realm of twilight. I can access it and see what people are thinking, dreaming... Remember when we first met and I heard your thoughts? I didn’t know what was going on. My father explained to me what happened.” I looked up at Nino and he had his same glare on his face as when we first met. He needs someone to comfort him Nino and you’re the best one to do it. By accessing a dream I have limits up to 2 hours before being thrown out…I’ll try and restrain Doki from surfacing while you’re in there…that is if you want to.” I explained.

He kept glaring at me.

“And look at it this way one you can never be trapped in a dream and two you and Matsu will have time to just talk you know like friends should.” I laughed sheepishly.
