We're going?

~Mari~

After we’d gotten back to Aisling’s house, Kaki and I went straight to our room. A voice had been in my head for the last few days, but I had no idea where it was coming from. The weirdest thing was that only heard it when I was in this house. The boy. We want the boy. I heard the voice for the hundredth time.

“Shut up!” I growled out loud and put my hands over my ears. “Shut up! Shut up! SHUT UP!”

A second later Kaki was by my side, his arms around my shoulders. “Mari? What’s wrong?” he looked me over, and then looked around.

“Nothing,” I shook my head and tried to stand up.

He pushed me back down and looked me straight in the eyes. “Something’s wrong,” at that moment he really did look like a 16 year old boy.

I sighed. I hadn’t wanted him to worry about me, but it looked like I had no choice. “We have to leave,” I told him. I was answered with a confused stare. “We have to leave this house. They know where we are,” I tried to explain, though I knew I didn’t make any sense.

“Alright then,” he nodded anyway, putting complete faith in me.

I watched confused as the girl child, Mari, began to pack her bags. “What could she be doing?” Aine hadn’t mentioned that they’d be going anywhere, so I didn’t see why she’d have to pack.

I had been ordered to keep watch over the two of them. The demons had taken an interest in the boy child, yet no one knew why. Though everyone knew he wasn’t normal. We’d all witnessed as he’d grown from a babe to a young man in a matter of minutes.

The girl child grabbed their bags, and snuck out of the house, believing that they’d eluded Aine. Though I knew perfectly well she would have realised they’d gone. “Gabriel,” I called for the angel of humility.

“Yes?” he appeared beside me. But before I could answer, he shook his head. “I don’t know.”

I sighed, “Well, we can’t just go and ask them. We’ll just have to wait and see.”
