Peaceful Things

"What emotion do you focus on?" Emiko asked eying the dark haired man who stared back. Nino sighed a fraction and closed his eyes.

"If I tell you, you will laugh," the dark haired man retorted. Emiko appeared surprised by this but then crossed her arms infront of herself.

"Come on, spit it out," she answered back. Nino stared up at Emiko, and a strange grin was on his face. The red haired girl seemed extremely unnerved by this to say the least of it. "I won't laugh. I promise."

"I focus on happiness," Nino said as his face dropped again back to its somber ways. Almost instantly, Emiko was laughing... and hard. She smacked a wall and continued laughing only slowly beginning to stop as she noticed Nino was not laughing or anything of that measure. The dark haired, dark eyed, frowning man was completely and utterly serious. Emiko appeared to blink as if the idea was finally hitting her.

"You of all people?" she challenged a bit raising an eyebrow at the dark haired man as though he were about to say the words 'got-ya' or something along those terms. However, Nino said nothing on this.

"It's something I can use..." Nino answered back looking out a window and not saying anything else. "But not really happiness..... more of peace..." the dark haired man sighed a bit.

"You're....serious..." Emiko finally answered back.

Nino didn't answer this question back. "I think of how things would be if the demon lords didn't exist... if I was someone else in a different span of things..." The dark haired man broke off and said nothing more. "It's the only way to arouse the emotion that will trigger my gun now a days..."

Emiko was silent for a minute before looking away. "You're a real idiot," she sighed outwards as if irritated beyond reason. "How does thinking about being someone else make you happy? Seriously....It just...." she broke off and started shaking her head no longer even looking at Nino. "I mean... I know... I mean..."

Nino sighed outwards. "Don't even try to lie," the dark haired man sighed outwards. "We've all dreamed of a better life..."

"Shut up," Emiko said suddenly very defensively. "That is not what I was...."

"A better life... a family that would accept you... no fighting... not having to focus on things that only make you hurt inside..." Nino's voice was monotone as he said this, yet there was something in the way he was stating them.

"I said shut up!" Emiko answered back caustically. "I don't wish that..."

"The ability to just be normal and do the things you like to..." Nino continued darkly.

"Nino! Shut up!" Emiko continued suddenly putting her hands over her ears. However, he knew she could still hear him.

"The ability to go back in time and make amends for things," the dark haired man continued quietly. However, in that instant, Nino felt a fist in his jaw.

"I said shut up..." Emiko said looking extremely hurt. "I don't want to heart it... it's too much of a dream... I hate dreaming when you have to wake up... Shut up, Nino..." The dark haired man lookede back as if strained.

"You asked what emotion I focused on...." he answered back. "It's that endless dream.... that I find peace in...." Emiko appeared to recoil her hand suddenly as if trying to bring even more anger to the table... Nino just looked out the window again. "It's an emotion hard to describe.... but it's something I feel the greatest power in...neither anger or courage compare to the feeling of chasing a dream..."

"Wait...." Emiko said blinking a moment. "You said... chasing a dream..do you mean....." Nino turned his head out the window and stared darkly out of it.

"I hate ghosts...angels....and demons... they took away the part of me that was ever normal... that will never change...." Nino said aloud. "But to dream of having a life of normality...." the dark haired man broke off and shook his head. "Get back to focusing on emotion.... try to find something beyond the regular emotions.....and then form your weapon...." With that, the dark haired man stared out the window again as though he were no longer paying attention to Emiko.

"Wait! There is a pool in Em's back yard. Will that do?" Elle asked. Ame turned her head a bit to view Elle again. Grinning, the teal haired woman stopped for a sudden second.

"That'll do just fine." Ame grinned suddenly headed towards Emiko's house.

All but sprinting to the house, Ame stared at the water of the pool suddenly very happy indeed. "So, Ame, what's first?" Elle said breaking Ame's concentration again. Turning around to the girl, Ame twisted Elle over and made her look in the water. "First off Girlly, we're gonna change that aura of yours," Ame grinned. "All that negativity you're starting to harbor for yourself is pissing me off since I can feel it. So now we're gonna have a self assessment. Elle what do you see when you look at your reflection in the water?" Ame asked with a now serious air about her.

"I.... I don't see what this has to do with anything," Elle answered back trying to back away from Ame. "I'm just fine in how I see myself."

Ame put her hands on her hips, pulled out a strange plastic fan, and beat Elle over the head with it. The dark haired girl seemed stunned to say the least of things. "Don't give me that bull," Ame answered back crossing her arms. "You're nearly as negative as that damn idiot Nino, and I'm not gonna have my pupil be some Emo do you hear me?" Ame challenged. Elle blinked as if in confusion.

"I just don't want to be weak!" Elle shouted back. "And I just want..."

"What?" Ame asked turning her head to one side before grinning a fraction. "If you want something.. ask for it. Do it. Now."

"I want you to train me..." Elle mumbled.

"I can't hear you," Ame smirked.

"I said I want you to train me!" Elle answered back.

"What did you say?" Ame asked putting a hand up to her ear.

"I SAID I WANT YOU TO TRAIN ME!" Elle suddenly seemed to bulk up as if irritated now.

"Now what makes you think I'd do that?" Ame grinned. Elle looked dumbfounded.

"You said you would...." Elle answered back.

"What if I changed my mind?" Ame smirked.

"I..." Elle tried.

"What would you do? You can't do anything. You're weak," Ame continued taunting and was now poking Elle in the chest repeatedly. "Come on... what are ya gonna do."

"Stop it..." Elle said as if unsure as to what else to say.

"What's that?" Ame challenged.

"I SAID STOP IT!" Elle shouted.

"Make me...." Ame answered back grinning as her eyes narrowed. "Come on... let's see if you can make me..." Suddenly Elle seemed to move straight forwards and push Ame hard.

"I said train me!" Elle shouted. "Quit tormenting me! I know I'm weak! But I want to get stronger!"

"Why?" The teal haired woman grinned back.

"Because...." Elle said unsure of what to say.

"Because you don't want to be a cry baby?" Ame snickered.

"No!" Elle answered back. "I want... because..."

"Because you're scared..." Ame grinned.

"Stop!" Elle answered back firmly. "I want to get stronger... so...so...."

"So what?" Ame asked. "What'd be the point of getting stronger?"

"No!" Elle shouted back shaking her head again. "I want to be stronger so I don't have to watch the people in front of me get hurt and die because they were trying to protect me!" Elle shouted suddenly at Ame. The teal haired woman's grin disappeared. "I... I want to help them...." Elle sighed out as though unsure of her own words. "And if you won't teach me, I'll leave now!" What appeared to be tears were working their way on Elle's face.

However, almost instant, Ame was standing now in front of Elle and brushing the tears away. "You are very strong..." Ame smiled a bit now stepping back. "Remember the reason you are training... keep it with you. If you lose sight of it for one minute, I will beat you down....I will train you Elle.... but you must believe in yourself and chase the goal... the want to improve and... don't ever lose sight of it."

"But... if I'm still weak...." Elle stated unsure of herself.

"You just screamed down the best fighter in my shamistic community," Ame grinned. "You're strong."

Elle blinked, yet a sudden enormous amount of something worked its way up into her, and the dark haired girl nodded. "Alright..." she answered back.

"Now... look in the water and tell me what you see..." Ame smirked. "Because I see a warrior about to take form. Now then...Let's focus on ghosts, shall we?"

Ame slowly explained ghosts and the spirits of the earth that inhabited the area. "We're not trying to summon them... but simply feel them... commune with them... feel their presence in the world..." Ame said aloud. Both women were sitting down now in front of the pool with their eyes closed. "Find your center and drain your mind.... feel the water moving slowly.... find it all..."

"You sound like a yoga teacher," Elle said opening an eye.

Taking a fan, Ame smacked Elle over the head and went back to her meditation format. "Focus..." Ame ordered.
