Things Uncommon in Life

“Were you in love with Ryo?” Aeirin felt her muscles twitch sharply. It wasn't even like that.... she found her thoughts loud in her own mind.

“Why in the demon world would you ask me that?” She scolded sharply back feeling the need to smack Ryuu upside the head. He didn't have any right to speak. None what so ever.

“Because you keep blaming me for his death," Ryuu answered back. Aeirin's eyes narrowed a bit and she said nothing for a bit.

“How did you know that?” she finally asked already knowing her blunder. He was Asa's child. Of course it already made sense.

“The mind is a twilight realm. Being a demon lord I figured that you would have noticed my spying on your thoughts," Ryuu answered back. Aeirin was resisting the urge to fight Ryuu right then and there.

"I blame everyone," she finally answered back her eyes narrowing. "I blame you. I blame Ryo. I blame Noiren. I blame Hiawai. I blame Asa. I blame myself. I hate it all, and you will not talk of this."

Ryuu seemed a fraction taken back as though unsure of what to say on the matter then. However, his eyes narrowed again. "What exactly happened?" he asked finally. Aeirin said nothing but sealed off her mind from Ryuu and began to walk around the room slowly... what was left of it anyways.... "Aeirin? Why did Ryo..."

"Don't even say his name," Aeirin hissed. "You have no right to say it that way."

Ryuu fell silent again but seemed to twitch with agitation. "Just answer already.. did you love him?" he finally asked back. Aeirin was staring off now ignoring Ryuu completely.

"If Demon Lords can love," she sighed finally. Silence went through the room once more. Aeirin continued her steps further into the nothingness now. What had once been a training field was all but a black hole. "He was a father, an older brother, a best friend, someone I could talk to, and so much more," Aeirin sighed still not looking at Ryuu. "If that is what you consider love, then yes... I loved him a lot." There was silence again. Turning sharply around, Aeirin stood tall and hand a fan in hand. "I refuse to forgive anyone for what has happened," she said sharply. "But if you don't grow from this, I swear I will kill you, Ryuu."

Ryuu seemed suddenly taken back again. However, his eye narrowed and he took another step forwards. "What do you mean 'grow'?" he finally asked.

"Just what I mean... If you don't end up stronger than him in the end of all this, I will hunt you down and kill you because all his work would be at a loss. I won't have it, Ryuu. I won't." Aeirin answered back. She was not shouting. There was no emotion in her voice. However, her words were like daggers ready to slice at someone's throat.

Ryuu stared a minute not saying anything. Both demon lord and moratorium stared at one another, and the silence in the air was all but intoxicating. Finally Ryuu looked away. "I didn't mean for..."

"I don't want your condolences. I want you to know that if you don't get stronger, Ryo's death would be meaningless, and I refuse that." Aeirin answered back. The orange haired woman was now staring off into nothingness again. "He was my best friend even before I became a Demon Lord," Aeirin sighed. "And he said he was going to help me and be there for me, yet in the end of it all...." She said nothing more but fell into silence.

Ryuu seemed as though he wanted to question what she was saying, and right then and there, Aeirin felt his presence trying to push on her mind. She shoved him straight back and gave a leer. "We were all once human you know," she finished. "Some of us worse than others."

Ryuu said nothing but simply looked away as though trying to play off that he had done nothing wrong. The orange haired woman said nothing but stared at the side of his face. "Ryo came to me when I was a human," she continued. "And offered me something that I thought was amazing...." she sighed a bit and looked away again.

"What... was it?" Ryuu finally asked.

"Someone who understood how much I didn't want to die..." Aeirin sighed back. There was silence in the air again. "And how much I wanted to get away from it all...."

"Miss Aeirin!" a voice called causing the orange haired demon lord to jump a fraction and turn her head to find Helga, her high demon servant walking into Ryoen's room. "I have been looking for you," she sighed a bit before looking at Ryuu. "And who is he?" she asked.
