“I would prefer to begin in the morning,” I nodded in thanks to Aine. “If you wouldn’t mind. I’m still worried about Kaki, and would rather watch over him tonight.”
“It’s fine,” she smiled. “I’ll see you in the morning.”
“Thank you,” I smiled as she walked away, and made my way back into the room. “Kaki, why won’t you wake up?” I whispered as I sat beside him and went to brush a stray blonde hair from his face. I reeled in shock as my hand connected with his forehead. “You’re burning up!” I cried, keeping my hand there for a few more seconds, realising that his whole body was being wracked with tremors, before running out of the room.
I stopped turned the corner to the bathroom quickly, almost running into Aine. “Is something wrong?” she looked me over.
“It’s Kaki,” I trembled. “I don’t know what’s wrong,” I cried.
“Calm down,” she soothed. “Panicking won’t help with anything,” she smiled warmly, calming me down slightly. I explained to her what had happened, and I saw her face crease with a slight worry. “Go and get a wet washcloth for his head. I’ll go take a look at him.” I nodded, that was what I had been going to do in the first place, and took off running again, returning quickly with the wet cloth.
I could feel tears spring in my eyes as I saw Kaki’s condition had worsened. “What are we supposed to do?” I trembled, as I placed the cloth on his forehead.
