“So, since you all are hanging out, I’ll go get out of your hair,” the new girl, Rina, smiled getting up.
“Oh no, it’s alright. You can hang out here for a bit, I don’t mind,” Ryuu assured her as he walked over to me, kissing me quickly. "I'll be right back," he told me before turning to the rest of the group. “I’ll be back, I’m just going to go up to my room for a few minutes.”
Rina sat on the floor. “Are you sure, it’s really late…”
“It’s ok, don’t worry,” Ryuu turned and went out of the room.
“So, how old are you guys?” Rina asked as she looked around.
"I'm seventeen as is Ryuu. Aisling here is thirteen and Puck is.... around our age too," I chuckled nervously, hoping Rina wouldn't press that fact. I really had no idea how old he was. He looked older than Aisling, maybe seventeen like Ryuu and I?
Aisling and I exchanged looks before looking back at Rina. Aisling asked, "How old are you?"
"Eighteen," she replied with a smile. I never would have guessed that she was older than Ryuu and I. She was so tiny. Plus, the past few months had not been kind to either Ryuu or I, and it showed on our faces. We probably looked a lot older than what we were.
"So, why'd you move here?" I asked her, trying to find something to talk about. I wasn't really sure how to talk to people like this. Usually, it was always about the paranormal.
"My mom got transferred to a bank here in town," she replied with a shrug of her shoulders.
Ryuu came back into the room then. "Sorry about that,” he apologized. “So does any one want anything to drink?” he asked walking into the kitchen.
“I’m good.” Aisling yelled after him.
“Same here.” Puck called out.
“Can I have a water?” I asked.
“Um…I’m alright thank you.” Rina said.
When Ryuu came back into the living room, he handed Rina one of the water bottles and myself the other one. "Thanks," I told him with a smile. Ryuu came and sat next to me, and I couldn't help but lean into him. I did it subconsciously.
“So how long have you been here Rina?” he asked.
