-Ryuu-
I felt that vertigo feeling and flew up from where I was laying breathing heavily. I clutched my chest and there was a hole in my shirt and it was damp with my blood but, there was no hole in my chest.
“What happened to me?” I muttered to myself.
“Your awake!” I heard my mother’s voice and looked up to only be knocked back down to the ground by my mother’s hug.
“M-mom.” I stuttered hugging her back. “What’s going on, why are you here?” I asked confused.
“I’m here to help with your training of course!” My mother chirped. “Akane and I built a place for you and Emiko to train together, so don’t tell your father alright.” My mom smiled.
“Don’t tell me what Nori?” I looked up to see my father standing over us with his arms crossed.
“Wait who’s Akane?” I asked and my other stood up.
“Well it looks like you’ve already died once, that’s good to know.” My father commented. “Now, back to the matter of this training ground for Ryuu and Emiko…” My dad said looking back at my mother.
“Oh you know that they are soul mates and you just don’t want to admit it. Sometimes you act just like your father Asa. He knew that we were soul mates but, he never admitted it and he hated me as well.” My mom stated.
It made since that mom wasn’t liked that much by my grandparents, she was a human and well dad was a demon lord who fell in love with a human.
“I didn’t care what my parents thought, I wanted to be with you, no matter what.” My father smiled and took my mother’s hands.
“Don’t you think that our son should be able to have the same with Emiko?” She stated.
“But, Nori, you know that they both need to train on their own.” He answered back not budging.
“Don’t but Nori me Asa, you know I’m right, and I’m sure that you will get the same lecture from Akane.” My mom said.
“But sweetie…” My dad started.
“No but sweetie either, you know I’m right.” My mom told him.
I smiled and started laughing which I could feel my parents attention switch to focusing on me instead of each other. “You two still bicker like you’re married.” I laughed.
“We decided even after death that we would still be together no matter what happened.” My mom stated kissing my father’s cheek.
“But, won’t you get kicked out of heaven if anyone knows?” I asked confused.
“We’ll talk about that later right now we need to get you to the other training area so you and Emiko and begin your training.” My mother said letting go of my father’s hand pushing me along to a doorway that wasn’t there before.
“I’m going to go and try to talk some since into Akane about this.” My father sighed.
“Hurry Ryuu, you need to get there first.” My mom said opening the door and pushing me threw.
My mom seems to like playing matchmaker but; I was okay with that. She was letting Emiko and I be together. I walked threw the door and ended up in another room that looked like the one that I just came out of. The door slammed behind me and disappeared. I looked around at my new surroundings. It was like I was outside with bright blue skies above my head and a sandy floor. It looked like the room went on for miles and in the distance there was a building of some kind.
I heard a door open and instantly turned to see Emiko coming out of the door. I took her into my arms and hugs her.
“You’re alive!” She cried.
Before I could answer her back she put a hand on the back of my neck and pushed my head down so that my lips were pressed against mine. My heart raced and I held onto her tighter when I realized that this was the first time that we have kissed since we got back. I pressed a little harder against her full, soft lips. I felt her push back against my lips and we stayed like that for a few seconds longer before we slowly pulled away from each other.
“I love you.” I whispered in her ear and picked her up off the ground so she was eye level with me.
“I love you too.” She smiled and hugged my neck.
“I’m doing great. I’ve already died once and I haven’t even gone through any training yet.” I laughed lightly letting her gently back down to the ground.
“Okay you two.” I heard my father’s voice in the air and then saw him walk in out of nowhere like he was walking down a hall. “Since I have obviously lost the battle against your mother’s I guess I have no choice but to let you two train together.” My father sighed. “Your first opponents are two of my servants. The further you go the more powerful your opponents will be. Your goal is to get to the temple that’s in the distance.” My father explained. “Good luck, I’m off the tell the rest of the group about the rules of the game.” My dad winked and then with a snap of his fingers two people appeared out of no where in front of him. “Don’t go easy on them.” He said then disappeared.
“My name is Sai and this is my brother Kai. We will be your opponents.” The one with long orange hair that was pulled back bowed slightly.
“We were told not to go easy on our opponents, but I didn’t think that we would have to face off against Lord Asa’a son.” The one with slate colored hair that was short and spiky commented putting his hands behind his back.
“Don’t hold back you two other wise you’ll never reach your goal and you’ll die.” Sai smiled at us and materialized a staff in his hands and Kai materialized a katana in his hands.
