WOOT! WOOT! OUR SECTION WON FIRST PLACE IN OUR SCHOOL'S FIRST EVER MUSICAL PLAY!!! :D
It was our school's first ever musical play contest to be held in years. The three highest sections in Fourth Year were given the opportunity to present a play having the theme "High School Musical".
I played the role of a girl named Phoebe. She's an antagonist in the story. She's a varsity player who had a boyfriend named John. John is the love interest of Lucy (one of the main characters) and later falls for Lucy. Phoebe is a possessive girlfriend and does miserable things to Lucy. <Gosh! Her personality differs from mine!>
The play was a big challenge:
- Time/Place of practice was a big problem
- We were forced not to attend class just to have practice
- Sound systems was a big concern for us
- Some people in our play had a few quarrel with a few classmates & even those from other sections
- Some of the actors became too demanding with the props' materials and so the issue between the actors & propsmen began
- We were being compared to other sections and they say our musical play suck
- Sleeping, resting and eating was quite a hassle for us
- Our throats are almost cracked since we practice again & again
Luckily, our musical play was very successful. We made impressions to all the teachers (judges) who watched us. And many students said that our actors had the loudest voices and the best songs/choreography. Very unexpected win for us! :)) Our class president said DOING YOUR BEST is better than BEING THE BEST. Very true! We had a short prayer thanking God for what just happened. And earlier, it was announced that we won first place! We thanked God again because of His blessings to us.
What a very nice Fourth Year High School memory... This is probably on of the most unforgettable.
