I'm so sorry guys for raging as an angry mob last night.... About my previous post... My wallpaper having in the Zerochan.
I would like to clear some things. Yes I know that Zerochan is an Image dump site. And its quite useful for artists to find high resolution scans without having to sign up. I myself sometimes find scans there. Its just that I'm against Zerchan's wallpapers and fanarts thing for a few reasons:
- ANOTHER WALLER MIGHT GET IN TROUBLE - I remember Winterlionheart's wallpaper before. It got deleted because the original image she used was an actual wallpaper made by someone I know. She found it in Zerochan and mistook it for a scan. I've seen a lot of them who got in trouble. Also, I see some Pixiv art there. Some sites (like Minitokyo) do not allow anyone to use scans from Pixiv for wallpapers. They get deleted right away as well. Pixiv is the Japanese equivalent to deviantART.
- I PREFER MY WORKS TO BE WHERE I POSTED THEM - I know the moment you posted your works, you're also risking your own dignity... But somehow, I'm feeling a little anxious knowing my works are posted in sites that surprises me. If I posted a wallpaper in theO and promoted it in Tumblr, I'd totally be saying "go to theOtaku and download the full resolution". I prefer that way. I've been hurt a lot of times especially during one time I saw a few of my walls have even those stupid site logos pasted over it!!! :'(
- I'M ALSO AN ARTIST, I DRAW TOO - Seeing Pixiv and deviantART works there somehow hurts my heart. Fan arts are totally pain in the a** especially the traditional ones. I'm not sure if those artists would like to see their works there but with that, they're not getting the proper credit they should be getting. Most of the fan arts I see don't have signatures. Seeing it makes me think of the hard work they've done and it really hurts me. Sometimes I think people should see this in the sites where these art were originally posted. If its posted in deviantART, people should see this in deviantART.
It's just my own side. I also respect yours too!...
