[JULY 14, 2011]
Art History was a little boring....

Then in our Techniques subject, we had to sketch this so-called "Arch of the Centuries" in our university. Its actually VERY old and is quite an attraction. There's a funny rumor that when a student (who did not graduate yet) made an exit into that Arch, he/she will not graduate! Entering is fine, but not using that as exit until you graduate. Hahaha... It was proven to be true. I'm still finishing the sketch. :))

We have no room in our Tech subject so we're just loitering around the campus, LOL. While doing our sketch, my classmate noticed that there is a higad (hairy caterpillar/Euproctis chrysorrhoea) that landed on my collar. It did not bite me, but it made my neck so friggin' itchy. It probably fell from a nearby tree where I was sketching. Some of my classmates were also 'attacked' by these furry little creatures. They all went to the clinic for treatment. I was the last one to go because I wanted to at least have 25% done on the sketch. Although that made my neck even more itchy and more irritated.

When I was at the clinic, the nurse concluded that I just got exposed from the higad. But it took long for her to name the medical condition because she doesn't know the english of higad! I actually don't know as well... In the Philippines, caterpillar is more of the one that becomes a butterfly, not the one that is itchy. I jokingly said that my medical condition should be 'Higad Exposure'. Hahahaha... And it seems that she actually used that term! LOLOLOLOL!!! At least I had my treatment.

Good news for me because I finally got the Derwent sets I ordered last week! :D Quite expensive but its all worth it! Derwent is a nice brand and is quite rare in the country.

I got a Sketching Collection.
