SOOOOOO about 2 hours of helping her with her virus problem, nothing happened. Okay well something DID happen.
At first, I didn't know what kind of virus she had. It was over 13,000 :) Then basing from her description of what's going on in her laptop, I suspected the huelar.exe virus.
She "junked" her two other laptops just because it was infected : She said they couldn't fix it that's why it was considered "unfix-able". What a waste.
So......
Then I told her to go use safe mode, (I also taught her how to do that), open her internet explorer and download malwarebytes.
When she opened internet explorer, the default page was changed to redtube.com blah blah and it said that it was a huelar browser. So then THERE! I confirmed it was huelar.exe virus :D (Look it up on google and see how bad it is xD) According to one blogger, huelar.exe would make an average computer user to think that it's the end of the world XD
Then she proceeded to download malwarebytes. After a few minutes, the download was done. I felt relieved a little because the 2 hours of helping would end and pay-off but then she messaged me and said that the installer won't run. And that was bad news -,-. I know the next things to be done after the supposed full computer scan.
We can't proceed to the next step because it needed the scan so that a couple of the infected files would be deleted. Foof.
After that, we were supposed to proceed with the registry editor. Since we were stuck in that step, I recommended her to go to a well known computer pro in our town. She asked if he is a trustworthy and yes, he is.
Most computer users & other pros in our town know him. He even made his own hacks but I doubt he uses them anymore XP He's just really good with those stuff XD
But actually if she only had some more computer knowledge, it would have been easy to fix : We could have worked on it together XD But the thing was, we only communicated through chat :P
So yeah~ It all ended there and I'm supposed to be doing a video request from a friend XD
