Even though I arrived late, I managed to get some info. The one dark-haired guy I met earlier didn't seem to really care what was going on. Anything I could get was dug from inference and a few other people. Basic rules and such: minimum of four badges required to keep a license, only six Pokemon at once, have to check into a PokeCenter every month, etc. They pretty much went through that during the ordinary stuff. Oh well.
So, we got marshaled out back into the lobby where we came in. The funny guy in the tuxedo had us organize ourselves into lines to register our cards and our first Pokemon. The nurse, often given the common nickname of "Nurse Joy" as their hair had always been styled in the same way no matter where they are. You know, with the funny loops and thick bangs. The nurse took my card when it was my turn, swiping it, and giving me a plastered smile. "Thank you, Ms. Lyndon," she said. "Your Pokemon."
I nodded and handed her my Pokeball. She took it gingerly into her hands and placed it into the machine to let my Pokemon heal up. The computer screen behind it lit up, showing a picture of a Sandshrew. I scowled slightly, and I know that she noticed it. However, the nurse paid it no mind. She handed me the Pokeball and my card before bowing and thanking me, tacking on her "have a nice day."
I walked away without saying anything, studying my Pokeball with a frown. Maybe there's a way to get a Growlithe. Of course, while lost in my thinking, I run into someone. Once again, I sank like the S.S. Anne. Way to look independent. I looked up, quickly saying, "Sorry 'bout that." I looked up again to see the dark-haired guy from earlier. He looked rather puzzled, though I'm not sure why. I rose, dusting myself off.
Before either of us say anything, the guy in the tuxedo calls for all of us trainers. So, all us trainers gathered around and he went over the entirety of it. We travel in groups of three to ensure protection and other things. I sighed, rolling my eyes. Then he started calling out groups by numbers and then the members. On a screen behind him, the faces and the names of the team members appeared flashed. "Group 5: Adlar, Raynard; Lyndon, Kennedy; and Owens, Autumn."
I blinked as I looked at the man next to me. Well, darn. Then, I noticed the third picture of the girl named Autumn Owens. I had met her on the bus. Well, what a strange coincidence.
