Dream Phantom
Darkness is some peoples friends
Darkness is where all nightmares come to life.
Phantoms wrap around your mind as you sleep.
You toss and turn in your sleep.
Crying out hoping someone will wake you
When you wont wake up because your
Dream is forever grounding you in
A nightmare that this phantom has brought to life.
You scream as you witness something
From your past, or something that
This dream phantom has made into reality
Yet……no one comes to wake you up.
Soon you sit up in your bed breathing
Heavily and grasping your bed sheets,
Making sure that you’re fully awake.
You cry as you look back onto the dream that
You had just woken up from.
Now you are afraid to go back to sleep
Because the Phantom will come back.
He feeds off your nightmares and your screams.
Though this phantom has no name, but he may.
He hides in the darkness of shadows. And even when
You think you are safe during the day, you are wrong.
Because your mind travels back to the nightmare.
You shudder as you think about it.
The phantom laughs as you shudder
Against the memory, yet, he envies those
Who live free without having to do what he does.
He is charged with the job of giving people nightmares.
But he has no choice because he feeds off the nightmares.
Soon the light will find him and free him.
But when will he be free?
No one knows when he will be free.
So he continues to haunt the dreams of everyone.
He is the Dream Phantom
