Today, since I have a little time and to take my mind off some stuff I'm nervous about (personal issue), I've decided to reorganize some of my posts a little. I've basically been putting new tags into some of the posts so that they can be broken down into different categories. Here are the categories that I have so far.
- Artificial Pokemon
- Extraterrestrial Pokemon
- Fossil Pokemon
- Mechanical Pokemon
- Toxic Pokemon
So now, posts on Pokemon like Metagross, Registeel, and even Golurk, are now all in the Mechanical Pokemon category. This system is still sort of a work in progress. I'm still coming up with different categories. I'm also trying to figure out if some of the already existing categories should apply to some posts. For example could Genesect be classified as a Fossil Pokemon, a Mechanical Pokemon, and an Artificial Pokemon? I've already classified Shadow Lugia as an Artificial Pokemon, but maybe it shouldn't be. So to all of you who're guest posters here, I would really appreciate your impute on this. Maybe you have some suggestions. And of course if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.
Update 1: I've just added a few new categories to the list.
- Extradimensional Pokemon
- Mythical Pokemon
- Sacred Pokemon
- Sea Guardian Pokemon
I think I should probably explain these categories a little. Extradimensional Pokemon refers to Pokemon from another dimension like Giratina. Mythical Pokemon refers to Pokemon that are referred to in the Pokemon World's creation myths, like Kyogre and Giratina. Sacred Pokemon in this instance refers to Pokemon that are revered for certain reasons, like Volcarona, Celebi, and Ho-Oh. Finally we have the Sea Guardian Pokemon, which I think is pretty self-explanatory. This category covers Kyogre, Lugia, and Manaphy.
I've also added tags to a couple of Legendary Pokemon of the Week posts to indicate that that Pokemon is the master of a Legendary Trio. For example, Ho-Oh would be the master of the Legendary Beasts. I'm also going to add tags to a couple post to indicate of said Pokemon is part of a Legendary Duo. At the moment I'm still trying to figure out how to classify Pokemon like Genesect and Meloetta. And I still need to come up with new categories for many of the Interesting Specimen Pokemon. I didn't expect to get all this done in one day though.
Update 2: Over the last couple of days I've added some new categories.
- Wonders of the Deep
- Insect Wonders
- Unique Hybrids
Wonders of the Deep is a category I came up with for for unique Water Pokemon like Chinchou, Lanturn, and Manaphy. Insect Wonders is a category for unique Bug Pokemon like Joltik and Volcarona. I've also put Genesect in this category. Finally, the Unique Hybrids category is something that umchan suggested. It's basically for Pokemon with rather odd type combinations like Chinchou, Volcarona, and even Giratina. I'm still trying to come up with new categories for a few of the Interesting Specimen posts, mainly for the Ghost Pokemon. And I'm still trying to decide if Genesect could be considered a Mechanical Pokemon, since it is a cyborg.
Update 3: Just added three more categories.
- Great Dragons
- Morphing Pokemon
- Great Birds
Great Dragons is just a general category for posts on Dragon Pokemon. Though it may extend to Pokemon with dragon characteristics, like Charizard (that is if I ever do a post on Charizard). Morphing Pokemon refers to Pokemon with alternate forms that can be switched, like Rotom and Deoxys. Finally we have Great Birds, which is just a category for the posts on Legendary Bird Pokemon. Though it may extend to posts on other Flying-type Pokemon I do in the future. I've also put some more posts under already existing categories.
Update 4: There are new three more new categories.
- Malevolent Pokemon
- Spectral Pokemon
- Fabled Pokemon
Malevolent Pokemon are pretty much just Pokemon that have a bad attitude and are prone to go on rampages (or plots for world domination in Mewtwo's case). Spectral Pokemon is just a general category for Ghost-type Pokemon. Fabled Pokemon are Legendary Pokemon that have myths of some sort behind them, but aren't worshiped or involved in any creation myths.
Update 5: Have a few new categories on the list.
- Mutant Pokemon
- Stones Users
- Sky Guardian Pokemon
Mutant Pokemon refers to Pokemon that are created by accidental means, like Turbbish and Garbodor, or Pokemon that are prone to or are the result of spontaneous and bizarre changes, like Eevee and its various evolved forms. Stone Users simply refers to Pokemon that use Evolution Stones to evolve. Sky Guardian Pokemon is a category that I came up with for Ho-Oh and another Pokemon I've yet to do a post on. It may expand to other Pokemon in the future. Seems like I'm starting to wrap this reorganization up.
