I have kind of a good news, bad news type of thing to report. I'll start with the bad news first. The bad news is that I probably won't be doing an Interesting Specimen post this week. This is mainly because I haven't really been able to come up with any ideas for the next post, and I'm not sure if I'll have time tomorrow. Plus I've been under a little bit of stress the past few days. Some of it is holiday related, and some of that stress just has to do with life in general.
Now for the good news. Many of you reading probably already know this, but more details of the next Pokemon movie to premiere in Japan next year have been revealed. As already known, Genesect is going to play a huge role in the film. But according to both the Anime News Network and Serebii.net, the movie is going to feature a Shiny red Genesect known as Extremespeed Genesect. Apparently this Shiny Genesect is not only much faster than its normally colored counterpart, but according to the promotional artwork this Genesect is able to fold its body and take on a sort of high-speed flight mode. As such, there will be another promotional Genesect event in Japan, though there don't seem to be too many details about the event itself at the moment.
As for the plot of the movie itself, there aren't any details on that either. Though if I were to guess, I'd say that it's probably going to involve Extremespeed Genesect doing battle with its normally colored counterpart. That's all I have to report. And if I learn anything more, I'll let you all know.
Update: Serebii.net just recently posted a video of the short preview of the next Pokemon movie. The preview shows a normal Genesect in flight mode being overtaken by the red Extremespeed Genesect. So it looks like my theory about the next movie's plot was right (dang I'm good!). Anyway, two can be taken from this preview. The first is that all Genesect seem able to fold their bodies to fly. And the second might be that Team Plasma actually created two of those things rather than just one.
