"You know, there must be 20 billion other ways to say 'You're gonna run someone over' that are simpler than that." The Glameow said sharply.

I recoiled instantly understanding that she was not one of my karate students, and I hadn’t the right to say things as harsh as I was saying them. However, I was somewhat surprised that she had understood what I had said. Then again, I knew I was thinking lowly of people again yet couldn’t help it.

"I'm not totally stupid, you know. By the way, I don't think we've met. I'm Kat,” the Glameow, formally Kat said.

"I'm Lee," I answered the formality. Indeed, the Gijinka of this mansion had a way with formalities that I had never seen before. Then again, I had surrounded myself with students and fighting pokemon for the longest time that we had all pretty much conformed to a certain degree. Suddenly Kat seemed to smile at me strangely, and I got a strange sense that she was somewhat plotting something.

"Let's be friends, then okay?" She answered pleasantly. Suddenly her face shifted and it seemed as though she had suddenly remembered something. "Oh! That's right! I left my map in the sitting room!" She exclaimed causing me to raise an eyebrow. "Hm? Are you maybe going to the dance?" she whispered under her breath.

I had to honestly do a double take on what had just been exchanged. Was she really asking if I was going to the dance that was causing many of the people in the mansion to run around like Combusken with their heads cut off? The image of the previous stated suddenly came to mind, and I resisted the urge to laugh. After another moment, I shook my head.

“No I am not,” I said aloud to the point that Kat seemed to jump and look around nervously. “I actually am not a resident of this mansion.”

“Oh….” Kat answered. “Then what are you doing here?”

“I was more or less invited to stay the night,” I answered. “I am looking for a few family members of mine, and I thought they would have passed through maybe. However, I was wrong.”

“Oh maybe I’ve seen them,” Kat answered, and I was somewhat surprised due to the fact that this was the exact same thing that Luis had said. I wondered if it was some sort of trend that had appeared in the house to try and be as helpful as possible. Then again, it was just common courtesy after a few second’s thought on it.

“A Hitmonchan, Hitmontop, and a Tyrogue are the ones I am looking for,” I answered not bothering to give names this time. It was apparent that there were a wide range of Gijinka here, and the simple distinction of pokemon would suffice.

Kat put her finger to her chin and then suddenly seemed to smile strangely at me.

“How about this,” she answered. “I’ll tell you if I’ve seen them if you say that you will come to the dance with me.”

I blinked. Was she serious? What a… I turned my head to one side and considered the odds of Kat actually knowing something about any of them. They were extensively low. However, I had not found any leads in over a month, and if there was even the slightest chance that she knew something…and not to mention that it would just be once more day…. But that day could cost me something….

All this inner debate was silenced after a monument. I had made up my mind.

“Aright,” I answered before I could spur anymore inner debates. For the sake of knowledge, I would go through this. It wouldn’t be that bad. I had been to many dances back at the dojo when the master had deemed it part of my training.

New face?

I rushed frantically, realizing that I didn't know where I was going. I bumped into someone, and continue on. Then I remembered: I had a map! I walked back toward my room to get the map. I bumped the person again. I stopped halfway there, remembering I had left outside. Once again, I bumped the person...

And he grabbed my arm. Then he started talking about acceloration and force and mass. I looked to realize it was a Hitmolee Gijinka that I hadn't seen before.

"You know, there must be 20 billion other ways to say 'You're gonna run someone over' that are simpler than that." I told him. He seemed surprised that I understood him. "I'm not totally stupid, you know. By the way, I don't think we've met. I'm Kat."

"I'm Lee," he said in a rather formal sounding voice. I smiled at him.

"Let's be friends, then okay?" I said. Then I remembered my task. "Oh! That's right! I left my map in the sitting room!" I whispered under my breath. "Hm? Are you maybe going to the dance?"

And you think yours was short? Lol, Kat has a new friend!

Mear

I sighed outwards and heard Shupple’s stomach growl. Had she not eaten when I walked in? No… that’s right. I had seen her come from the opposite direction of the hall.

"Do you want to get something to eat, or just.. stay like this?" Shupple asked quietly looking up at me.

Internally I felt conflicted. We needed to eat. That was something that would not be avoided not to mention that there was still the matter of the dance later… we had to get moving again no matter the destruction that it would cause to this strange peace that had come over us. I gave a quiet not down to her and carefully helped her back up. We both sat with our legs off the end of Shupple’s bed for a few more seconds before finally I started to force myself to stand. After another thought, I extended my hand to Shupple and helped her up off the bed as well.

“We’ll get something… and… then get ready,” Shupple said seeming to pull herself together again. “For that crazy Valentine’s Day Dance…”

I was thankful for this… Thankful that she was starting to be ok again…. There was something that had started to burry itself inside me, and I couldn’t quite explain the feeling. It made me…. Happy. That was a strange word for me to put with this, and yet it was truly what I was feeling. I wanted to draw it somehow.. this strange happiness, and yet there was a part of me that doubted I would be able to.

“Alright,” I answered feeling a strange curl on my lips. “But… how about we go out to town.. and eat…” I suggested it in a light manner where Shupple understood that she could refute this, and we would just head downstairs again.

However, a half look came into Shupple’s eyes as I said this. She looked downwards at our messy clothes, and my eyes followed. It was in that moment, I was thankful for the fact I had yet to put my suit on. I looked up again and met Shupple’s gaze. I felt my face lighten a bit.

“That…. Sounds good…” Shupple answered back. “I’m sure… we could find a breakfast place…”

After that statement, the idea that maybe Shupple didn’t want to go back and face those in the kitchen came to mind. It was just a theory, and I discarded it after a second.

“I think I saw a doughnut and koachie place while we were shopping yesterday…” I commented trying to give options for where to eat but only coming up with one. Curse my inability to think at strange moments in time. I would later debate if the reason my mind stopped was because of the strange feeling that had started to roll over me or the fact that I had only been in the town a couple of times.

“That works,” Shupple answered. “Let’s… go… now.”

“Alright,” I answered back.

I stepped forwards and opened Shupple’s door. Standing aside, I watched as Shupple took this act of courtesy and walked through.

Inner Peace?

Lee

After Luis had taken his leave back into the house, I sipped the last of my tea and stood up. Carrying the tea set back inside, I heard a large amount of commotion going on. My eyebrow rose as I saw a young eeevee cleaning up a mess that was covering the floor while there seemed to be a strange amount of chaos going on upstairs. For a moment, I was unsure whether to look into the matter myself or just leave on my way as before. Deciding on the latter for more logical reasons, I headed back into the kitchen with the dishes.

Just as I was coming in, someone brushed by me quickly causing the tea set to escape my arms. Moving quickly, I seized the cups and things with the extensions of my body. Carefully resetting everything back on the tray, I looked to see who had bolted so quickly down the area. It seemed as though a Glameow had just passed furiously getting ready for something. Turning my head back again, I walked fully back to the kitchen and set the tray and things down.

Not wanting to leave things unkempt for those that had graciously let me come into their mansion, I decided to clean the dishes and put them away. It would not be too much of a hassle, and then I would be once again on my way out to find… them again. As I walked to the sink, I started up the water and began to wash the dishes. Once again, there was a rush by me, and I caught sight of the same Glameow as before running through the area in a frantic movement that somewhat confused me. Why was she so frantic in this manner. Shaking my head, I decided that it was probably just the stress of some sort of obstacle that she could not quite meditate on.

Finishing washing the dishes, I turned and then remembered my bag. I had left it back outside. Sighing and realizing that some divine entity was demanding that I spend more time here, I started back outside. However, as I was walking out, I was all but run over again. This time, I took the arm of the runner and stared sharply at her.

“You might not want to do that,” I said in a calm but somewhat tense matter. “You could easily cause someone to collide with you and force equals mass times acceleration. Your force is only increased by your momentum on top of that.”

The Glameow Gijinka stared at me with a strange look of confusion on her face.

Sleep... Maybe...

Shupple

I hadn't even noticed that Mear had started to run his hands through my hair, and it actually made me feel peaceful. I guess you could say I was completely peaceful at the moment.

"Shupple..." Mear said quietly, but I just mumbled something I was thinking, Mear probably not being able to decipher it but I just relaxed and we stayed still and like the way we were for a while. I didn't even know how long. I wasn't counting.

Mear relaxed it seemed but he seemed to be looking at the door, I hearing it close and then his eyes back to me. I felt somewhat sleepy. Am I really that tired from all of that? I also realized that I had been acting a little stupid earlier, and childish. Childish? Where did that word come from?

I also realized that I should have said thank you to me for comforting me, but then again, he decided to do it on his own accord. I decided to tell him anyways, even if he didn't know what I meant.

"Thank... thank you... Mear," I told him, tired entering my voice. He seemed a little confused. I wouldn't blame him.

We stayed like this for a little bit, not moving at all except Mear's hand moving through my hair. It felt nice, actually.

I also realized that I was a little hungry, yet tired, and I didn't want to go back outside this room just because I was hungry and because I didn't exactly want this to end, I guess...

My stomach proved me wrong though and growled a little loud. Mear noticed and I looked over at him.

"Do you want to get something to eat, or just.. stay like this?" I asked quietly, but he heard. I was pretty sure of it.

I hoped we would stay like this, but I had a feeling food would come first. I wasn't really sure.
