I noticed my stomach grumbling, the sun out too bright, and my poems become messes about Mear, love, death, hate, whatever else you could describe in a negative way. I wasn't describing Mear at all like that, the poems were just turning out that way.
I stood up, grabbed my poem book, and headed back inside, the sun almost hitting my face. Too much sun and I would burn and faint. Just a mess really for ghost Pokemon.
Once I headed back inside and went to the second floor, finding chatter among everybody. Apparently, it must be about that Valentine's Day Ball or something or other. Maybe some embarressements that went on in the morning daylight or something else.
I headed into the pantry in the kitchen, finding some black licorice or some chocolate. I grabbed both and headed out of the pantry. This was my breakfast.
I passed by Mear on the way back to my room. Apparently, he was having to be agreed to go to the Valentine's Day Ball. I felt sorry for him all of a sudden. There was a look in his eye that showed he really didn't want to go. I understood how he was feeling. I hated Valentine's Day.
"Oh, Shupple, are you going to go to the Valentine's Day Ball?" I heard Lupe ask just as I turned around to go to my room. I turned back to her and sighed.
"No, I don't think so." She whined which made me roll my eyes.
"Why not?" She asked more seriously.
"I hate Valentine's Day. Simple as that." Then I figured I shouldn't have said that. Her face had practically lit up. I struck a nerve.
"You're acting the same way as Mear was just now! Why do you hate it?!" she exclaimed, which made a few heads turn. I didn't want to attract attention now of all places.
"I never had a friend or guy to like in my life. The only people I ever loved were my parents, and they're missing. I have no reason to celebrate Valentine's Day, Lupe," I told her solemnly. I didn't even want to talk about this topic now that she's brought it up.
She paused.
"At least consider it, okay? You don't have any friends?" Now she brought up this topic.
"I only have Mear as a friend. Nobody else," I sighed and this time she rolled her eyes.
"We're all your friends here, Shupple." Barely any people agreed.
"I'm just bad luck. It's bad to be around me, that's all," I muttered as I headed the opposite way as Lupe handed me a flier. I snatched it and headed to my door. This wasn't making me feel any better.
Once I entered my room, I slammed the door and ripped the flier in half. Like I said to her, I hate Valentine's Day. I sat on my bed and grabbed a book off of my new bookcase. It looked like the horror type of books that I loved, so I started to read it. I found it surprisingly addicting.
I laid down on my bed, noticing on the walls that the writing was increasing, probably taking words from my poems and splashing them on the wall. I didn't mind.
My poem book fell out of my hand and onto my bed, I now hearing the light bulb lighting up this hallway breaking. Huh. Must of broke out of what I was feeling.
Everything was quiet again, and I just continued to read, not paying attention to the time, or the person who entered my room. I wasn't even sure who it was until I turned my head. It looked like... Mear...

All she had was Faye and Estelle (childhood friends and adoptive sisters). She lost her memory from an accident many years ago. Eterna Forest was where she was found. Estelle found her as a Buneary and became practically sisters. They both found Faye later on and she became part of the family.
Ok so I honestly couldn’t get to bed real fast. Thoughts of the storm kept coming back, lighting and thunder cracked from the back of my brain and I shot from my sleep on more than one occasion last night. I couldn’t help it… I’d definitely developed a fear of those things and I was embarrassed to admit it.
So instead I sat in my provided room and thought about those stupid Sharpedoes… Again, couldn’t help it. I wanted to go back and beat them to a pulp---they frickn’ SCRATCHED ME! D< Bruises, cuts, burns from their skin. I glared at the wall just thinking of their leader. Augh… What was his name?
I don’t know why I make such funny faces while I think to myself but I cocked my head and toppled onto the bed and onto my side as I remembered. Shay... That was it! Jerk-off I’ll kill em’ and his buddies too!
“Pft. Nothing I can do about that now. I wanna forget that place once and for all…” And as an after thought I added to myself, “And no one here has to know about Shay and his buds and my so-called friends.”
I looked down, a pit in my stomach as I remembered them.
I really did think that they cared. But then they just up and left me in a storm.
…..
Dood, I’m starving.
I looked at the clock. Holy Arceus above us--it’s already breakfast time?!
I got up and got dressed in my regular attire (no one wants to see me in just my boxers until were better acquainted after all :3) And leaped out my bedroom door, smelling the aromas of food from the dining area. Hope they have fruit… But not pears, though--they’re icky.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At breakfast I sort of just mingled about, stealing around for some fruit to put in my bowl of milk and sugar. We never had sugar on the island, so it was a treat.
I saw Nyarth eating a bagel, waved, and said “Hey hey Nekoboy! Good morning~!” before sitting on the counter and licking off the sugar on my spoon and then chowing down on my scavenged fruit.
Then I noticed a girl I met yesterday… Akira. Mm, hm that’s the one.
I hoped down from the counter, receiving looks from the girls around me as my legs pushed out to get off of it without putting down my fruit.
“Excuse me, darling~” I smoothly placed myself next to her.
She turned abruptly. “Huh?!” Her orange hair flipped around and her yellow eyes so like mine stared up at me (she was quite tiny--all these cute young kids here mad me laugh) “Oh it’s you!”
“Yeah, we didn’t get introduced properly the other day. My name is Chii. Nekoboy told me--”
“Who??”
“Oh sorry, Nyarth told me you came and helped out carrying me in. I’d like to thank you properly for that.”
She smiled, seeming to be off the shock of me popping in. “Yeah I did but you really don’t have to do anything, Chii.”
I cocked my head, letting my bulb earrings bob and my eyes flash. “Really?”
Then a light in her eyes sparked. “Actually--I wanted to asked you something!”
I kept on grinning, folding my arms and leaning against the wall. “Shoot, darling.”
“Akira.”
“Augh! Sorry, Akira.“ *face/palm* “Won’t happen again, it just comes out for people your age.”
I couldn’t tell if she was miffed or not at that but she continued happily enough. “So I wanted to know about the storm.”
My blood went cold.
Her face went serious. “You were hurt by sharpedos weren’t you?” Her voice went quiet.
No… No.! I wanted to forget!
I shrugged it off as if it had nothing to do with me. “Sorry can’t help you there, Akira. Oh and look at my wrist I gotta go. Time for my morning yoga and--”
“Hey! Hey, come back this is important.” She was desperate. Why did she want to know so badly??
I turned halfway. “Sorry. Yoga calling.”
Then I left to go outside. Close call.
Continue??
Chii is too embarrassed for anyone to find out….. But Akira wants answers!! D: What will she and possibly Poochy do to get them?!
Featured in this passage are Chii and Akira
The overbearing sun finally found its harsh ways through my eyelids. Opening one eyelid, I sighed and sat up. Stretching to myself, I looked out the window that had allowed such a vast majority of sunlight through. Stretching, I walked over to the closet and opened it. Several sets of the exact same clothes filled either side of my closet. Changing clothes, I walked back out of my closet and then clasped the handle of my door. Turning the handle methodically to the right, I swung open the door. Turning my head for an instant, I debated whether or not to take my sketchbook with me. However, after another consideration, I decided that I would just come back for it after I went down and ate.
The house was already filling with the smell of food, and I wondered for a moment if I was the last one awake. No.. probably not…. well… who knew. My stomach made itself well known as I walked down the stairs. Sighing, I continued down and headed into what could only be described as a mass of color moving throughout the kitchen. Shaking my head, I slowly let my eyes come back into complete focus, and all the Gijika came in focus as well. Most were either eating or just talking to one another. As I stepped in, I was absorbed into the mass. Making my way through, I finally came to the pantry. Opening the door and reaching for a box of Poke-os, I grabbed a bowl and then sat down at the table. Pouring a bit of the cereal into the bowl, I was about to go to the refrigerator when I saw that a blue haired… Luxray Gijika drinking the milk straight out of the carton. Raising my eyebrow, I decided it was safer just to eat the cereal dry and started eating. Staying hidden behind the creves between the refrigerator and the corner, I watched as a few strange morning events go down including an umbreon falling asleep in his cereal and Estelle and Lupe’s strange conversation with the Luxray who had drank the milk.
After a moment, I put my dishes in the sink and was about to head out when I realized that everyone was just stacking their things in the sink. Raising my eyebrow, I finally sighed and started setting the dishes correctly in the dishwasher and then turning it on. Several Gijika seemed to jump in surprise at the noise, but I just stared back and gave them what I could only convey as assurance that it was just a dishwasher. Many of them seemed tense for one reason or another, and the thought came that many of them were indeed tense probably from the hunters and all notes associated with that.
Shaking my head for a moment, I decided to inspect the rest of the house in order to make sure that there were no errors that I had missed while making it. I took calm and quiet steps in order to avoid most people noticing me as I made my way through the full scale of the house. Everything seemed relatively in order, and then again one could asses some changes just by the fact that the house had already been inhabited for a day. After my gradual look around the house was finished, I wondered what exactly to do at that point. There didn’t seem to be anything really to be done in activity manner, so I simply headed back up to my room and retrieved my sketchpad.
Debating where to go, I wondered where the least populated area would be. However, my thoughts were interrupted as I walked down the stairs once again. Lupe came bounding down the hall with a handful of fliers and was sticking them on the wall as she passed. Stepping to one side to let her pass, I turned my head a moment and assed what she was doing.
“Planning an event?” I asked.
Lupe’s head turned as if she was just noticing that I was there. By my guess, she was too far into whatever she was doing to have noticed my presence. Shrugging for a moment, my eye shifted to the flier that was only a few feet away.
“Yep, Valentine’s Day is coming up. I saw the ballroom and thought it would be a good idea to hold an event!” Lupe answered as she continued sticking fliers about the area.
For a moment, I couldn’t think. What ballroom? Then it hit me that I had indeed added a ballroom as an afterthought to making the house. My intention was that maybe it would be used for meetings and things if necessary, yet as I saw what was written on the flier, I realized Lupe was planning a social event. Indeed, Valentine’s Day was coming up… I had not even considered the day for a long time, but it seemed to have hit a chord in Lupe.
“Ah,” was the only thing that came to mind as I looked at the flier. This strangely reminded me of the time back home when the other smeargle would gather and paint everything in sight in a valentine’s fashion with reds and pinks. My eye twitched remembering the fact that I had all but been forced to paint because of my red paint. Shaking my head after a moment, I returned my face to a calm function and just nodded.
“What?” Lupe said as she was starting to escape hearing distance and yet retained sight distance. I watched her continue down the hall and then slowly walked to catch up as she continued to throw out fliers. “You don’t like Valentine’s Day or something?” Lupe asked.
Now this was a question that I truly didn’t have an answer to. It was simply a day in my mind. However, this was also a lie I put to myself as all I knew of Valentine’s Day was the fact that I spent so much time and effort painting out red for no apparent reason. In a scenes, I was not a real fan of the day.
“It’s just another day,” I answered back shrugging.
“Just another… you’ve got to be kidding me!” Lupe answered back suddenly stopping her crusade of putting up fliers. “How can you say that! It’s a very important day!”
I turned my head to one side and understood that I had accidentally stepped a bit too far on this and struck a full chord. Looking down at my sketchbook, I moved it up and waited for the inevitable. As she found that I would say no more on the matter, Lupe seemed to get frustrated and crossed her arms completely.
“It’s a day for people to get together, and it’s a day for those that love each other to be together!” Lupe continued. I wondered if she would continue this or if maybe she would eventually stop if I remained quiet. However, this didn’t seem to decrease Lupe’s argument but rather increase it. “It’s a day when friends can be together too, and people have celebrations and balls and things!”
Finally sighing, I tried to put on a semi-pleasing demeanor. “True,” I answered more or less to get her to stop going on about it. Seeming somewhat satisfied with this, Lupe nodded to herself.
“So are you coming then?” she asked.
“Hu?” I asked before realizing her meaning.
“To the Valentine’s Day Ball,” Lupe answered holding a flier up in front of her and nearly parallel with her face.
“I don’t think I will,” I answered trying to phrase it in a way that would be acceptable. However, judging by the way Lupe’s face shifted, I found that I had failed.
“But you should!” Lupe answered.
I felt my face grow red for a moment unsure why she was being so persistent. Lupe’s face shifted pink and then acted as though she were looking at her own fliers. My graze dropped down to my sketchbook, and in that moment, I was thankful that I had retrieved it when I did. After a moment of silence, I finally gave in and nodded.
“I guess…. It wouldn’t hurt to go….” I answered in a half hushed format.
“Uh… that’s good!” Lupe said suddenly perking up and then handing me a flier. “See ya there then!”
Before I could say more, Lupe was already headed down the hallway again still putting up fliers. I nodded to myself and looked down at my sketchbook unsure of what to do. I had just said I was going to the ball, and yet there with this, so many more things came up. Shaking my head, I wondered what exactly I had gotten myself into.
Looking back up, I turned and headed back down the hallway the way I had come.
So here I go.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Feeling the early morning sun on my face, I woke up and opened my eyes. For a split second, I forgot what had happened last night, but then I remembered. With Eva's, Daniel's, and Akira's help, I was able to carry the Chinchou guy to a spare room in the mansion so he could be comfortable. He woke up and we all talked to him. His name's Chii. He's a pretty cool guy! Haha... I have a nickname now, Nekoboy. That's awesome.
I kitty-stretched there on my bed, inverting and then arching my back, and a nice little shiver travelled its way down my spine to the tip of my tail. I just sat on my bed then, looking out the two tall windows to the forest beyond. It might take a while, but the destroyed forest will grow back, as green and lush as ever.
GRUMMMMBLE~
I was jerked out of my meditations by my stomach. It's about time for me to eat! I headed out of my room to the nearest bathroom, splashed some water on my face, combed through my slightly tangly hair, and then headed downstairs to eat breakfast. Hm... I want bagels! I hope they have bagels...
